U.S. Advisory
Penta’s U.S. Advisory team works with clients across a wide range of sectors and issues, helping them navigate complex policy and political landscapes and communicate effectively with all of their stakeholders. Our typical support for clients may include assessing how changes in the political environment impact a client's priority issues; developing and testing effective messages; and executing strategies to reach and influence target audiences, leveraging earned media, owned content, and other tactics.
Position Summary
Penta is seeking full-time paid U.S. Advisory Interns for summer 2026 interested in gaining hands-on experience working in a strategic stakeholder solutions firm within a fun, fast-paced, and challenging environment. Interns can expect to gain immediate client project exposure and will be provided with ample professional development opportunities through ongoing training, while receiving direct mentorship from directors and partners. Additionally, interns will have the opportunity to work with other client-facing teams such as our Intelligence division, and Brand Strategy department, based on their interests. A successful applicant will have strong writing and time management skills, and possesses a curious mind coupled with a high achieving attitude.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Write communications products like press releases, media advisories, opinion pieces, and social media posts
- Research and monitor clients' business and industry to maintain an updated knowledge base and keep team apprised of new and ongoing developments
- Collect, conduct, and present quantitative and qualitative research and analysis in a variety of communication vehicles, including presentations, reports, infographics, and fact sheets
- Assist with executing events, including press conferences, speaking engagements, editorial board meetings and media trainings
- Build and maintain media lists
- Pull census data and economic policy data
- Perform statistical and economic analyses
- Assist in day-to-day administrative tasks as needed
Qualifications:
- Upcoming undergraduate senior (graduating in fall 2026 or spring 2027) working toward a degree in political science/government, public policy, economics, journalism, business, or a related field
- Previous internship experience at an agency, publicly traded company, media outlet, or in politics or government
- Experience conducting research and performing financial or economic analysis, writing and distilling complex ideas and concepts into a digestible format
- Familiarity with business, economics, politics, and the legislative process; expertise and interest in a specific policy field is a plus
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Strong attention to detail

- Ability to work independently as well as a member of a team

- Demonstrated ability to prioritize multiple, competing tasks

Compensation:
This is a non-exempt position eligible for overtime. The hourly pay for the internships will be $20 per hour. Any pre-approved hours worked over 40 hours per week will be paid at time and a half.

Location and Hybrid Schedule:
For this position, we are only considering applicants in the United States, who are able to work out of our DC headquarters Monday - Thursday, with remote flexibility on Friday's, for the duration of the internship.
