PED Workshop Manager (m/f/x)
Abuja, Port Harcourt, Nigeria

What duties will you have?

• Full operational responsibility for all assigned workshops, ensuring standardized, safe, and efficient execution of maintenance, repair, and overhaul activities

• Leadership and mentoring of 50–300 employee, Workshop Supervisors as well as technical staff across multiple workshops

• Plan, allocate, and supervise workloads and resources across workshops to achieve optimal utilization, reduced downtime, and high repair quality in line with manufacturer standards

• Review progress reports, backlog status, and repair delays to ensure timely resolution and continuous improvement across workshops

• Coordinate with project sites, operations, and other departments to align job priorities, equipment availability, and resource requirements

• Responsibility for workshop cost control, budget adherence, spare part consumption, and subcontractor cost management within delegated authority limits

• Conduct periodic reviews of workshop productivity, repair times, and work quality to identify improvement opportunities and optimize processes

• Oversee compliance with quality, safety, and environmental standards under the Integrated Management System (ISO 9001 / 14001 / 55000).

• Manage personnel competence and discipline through supervision, coaching, and coordination of Workshop Supervisors and technical staff

• Identify efficiency and cost-saving opportunities through process improvement and data analysis

Requirements

What skills must you have?

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or an equivalent technical discipline

• Master’s degree in Engineering Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline is an advantage

• Minimum 5–10 years of professional experience in heavy equipment, plant, or vehicle maintenance and repair, with exposure to both preventive and corrective maintenance operations

• At least 5 years of experience in a leadership or management position

• Ability to manage technical, financial, and operational responsibilities in a complex fleet or construction environment

• Strong technical understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems across multiple equipment categories

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey information clearly to both staff and customers

• Safety-, quality-, and results-driven mindset

• English language skills (B2/C1)
