Role Mission: IDEA Physical Education teachers deliver high-quality PE instruction daily in non-traditional spaces (e.g., outdoors, cafetoriums, shared multipurpose rooms) while maintaining safety, engagement, and strong routines. All physical education teachers are responsible for ensuring that every IDEA student masters personal and social responsibility, self-directed learning, and the problem-solving skills necessary to succeed in college. IDEA Physical Education teachers plan for and track Moderate to Vigorous Physical Activity (MVPA) as a core instructional outcome for all classes, even with facility and equipment constraints. IDEA Physical Education teachers collaborate with campus teams to share space, manage student transitions, and support campus culture (e.g., crisis response and discipline as assigned).
