[solidcore] is seeking an enthusiastic and outgoing Payroll Specialist to join our rapidly growing Payroll Department. Reporting to the Senior Payroll Manager, the Payroll Specialist is responsible for processing a semi-monthly multi-state payroll, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. You will work collaboratively and with a team of skilled professionals in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, demonstrating precision and expertise to maximize efficiency and productivity.
Key Responsibilities:
Processing multi-state payroll consistently and accurately
Managing workflow, as prescribed, to maximize efficiency
Auditing timesheets accurately to ensure wages and benefits are properly distributed
Accurately recording and documenting all transactions as directed
Researching, analyzing, and resolving all discrepancies and reporting to management as needed
Monitoring all accounts continually for accuracy
Ensuring accurate taxation and garnishment are applied to each account
Participating in end-of-month closing and audits
Conducting year-end reporting for W-2s, etc.
Monitoring payroll email inbox and responding to payroll-related questions promptly and effectively
Remaining in constant communication with teammates and management
Communicating with HR teams to make necessary changes/updates to accounts
Identifying opportunities and recommending scalable processes to enhance payroll operational efficiency while maintaining accuracy
Remaining in compliance with all legal and institutional requirements at all times
Demonstrating respect for client privacy
Assisting in implementing, writing, and maintaining standard operating procedures
Assist with and/or own other duties and ad-hoc projects as assigned by the Senior Payroll Manager.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required, bachelor's degree preferred
5 or more years of experience working in payroll or a similar role
Ability to manage multiple tasks and take ownership of work products.
Proven ability to meet multiple deadlines in a fast-growing environment with frequently changing priorities.
Possess a tech-savvy mindset and passion for end-to-end design and improvement.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team and take on new tasks with various levels of difficulty in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency in G-Suite
Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office and Microsoft Excel
Solid working knowledge of employee tax forms
Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
Aptitude for numbers and exceptional commitment to accuracy
Team player with excellent interpersonal skills
Outstanding problem-solving and analytical thinking skills
Attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks
Significant experience working in multi-state payroll with 1000+ employees, is a plus
Familiarity with payroll software Namely or Workday a plus
