We now have an exciting opportunity within Envoy Global’s Human Resources team for an experienced Payroll Specialist to join us on a full‑time basis. This role is integral to ensuring accurate, compliant, and timely payroll operations across multiple international regions including the UK, Europe, and Africa.
As a key member of the HR function, the Payroll Specialist will manage end‑to‑end payroll processing, maintain and analyze confidential payroll data, and serve as a primary payroll resource for employees across multiple countries. This position will work closely with our Payroll Manager, Country Managers, HRIS teams, and external vendors to ensure flawless payroll execution, adherence to country‑specific regulations, and exceptional employee support. The individual will also play a vital role in driving process accuracy, maintaining statutory compliance, and supporting key finance and HR initiatives across the organization.
As our Payroll Specialist, you will be required to:
- Monthly end to end payroll processing for UK, Germany, Kenya, Namibia and South Africa.
- Review and prepare multi country payroll monthly for hourly and salaried employees in accordance with Country, regional, and local laws, and standard accounting principles.
- Expertise[JS2.1][JS3.1][JS4.1] in handling multicurrency payroll for UK, European and African countries and exchange rates where applicable.
- Support our Payroll Manager with global payroll processes
- Ensure compliance with HMRC regulations. Process PAYE, NIC, student loans. Administer statutory payments. Year-end activities P69,P11D,P45’s
- Ensure compliance with local tax authorities in Africa, Manage local statutory deductions, pension funds, NHIF/medical schemes
- Maintain & audit current payroll system for time & attendance, employee records, etc. in preparation of payroll processing
- Partner with country managers and business HRs in the country to ensure all timekeeping tasks are completed, and support troubleshooting system issues
- Process voluntary deductions, garnishments, child support orders, tax levies, quarterly tax verifications, in accordance with all relevant laws
- Support tax-related reconciliations
- Partner with HRIS, local vendors, tax authorities and payroll providers, where appropriate, to ensure payroll tax payment deadlines and compliance requirements are met in all jurisdictions
- Answer employee questions related to time and attendance, paychecks, deductions, and taxes
- Support Finance and HR teams with special projects and reports as required
- Region specific duties:
UK: Ensure compliance with HMRC regulations, processing PAYE, NIC, student loans, statutory payments and year-end tax related activities
Africa: ensuring compliance with local tax authorities including but not limited to SARS, KRA, FIRS, ZIMRA, URA etc) as well as managing local statutory deductions such as PAYE, Social Security, Pension Funds, NHIF/Medical Schemes.
To apply for this role, you should possess the following skills, experience and qualifications:
- Working knowledge of the Country specific taxation, statutory and benefit related wage and hour legislation
- Experienced in MS Excel including V-Lookups, Pivot Tables
- Experience with processing global payroll and liaison with vendors
- Ability to navigate through and learn HRIS/payroll systems quickly
- CPP or similar credentials preferred
- Able to work across time zones
- 3 to 6 years of experience processing payroll for a multi-national employer, demonstrating knowledge of country specific payroll tax regulations, specifically experience in the UK, Germany and South Africa is a requirement.
