Overview

We’re looking for a Payroll Coordinator to support accurate, timely, and compliant payroll operations across the company. This is a hands-on, execution-focused role that sits at the intersection of People Ops and Finance, working closely with our Payroll Lead and cross-functional partners.

In this role, you’ll help ensure payroll runs smoothly by validating inputs, auditing data across systems, maintaining trackers, and supporting month-end and compliance-related processes. If you’re detail-oriented, highly organized, and get real satisfaction from clean data and on-time payroll, this role will feel like home.

Some things you’ll do

  • Prepare and support end-to-end payroll cycles by validating inputs (timesheets, compensation changes, leaves, bonuses, commissions, reimbursements) and maintaining payroll files and trackers
  • Audit employee data across payroll and HR systems to ensure accuracy, resolve discrepancies, and maintain clean, consistent records
  • Partner closely with the Payroll Lead, People Ops, Finance, and managers to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve payroll-impacting issues
  • Review and maintain accurate payroll setup for new hires, terminations, severance, bonuses, and other employee lifecycle changes
  • Process, validate, and document commissions, bonuses, and other one-off or special payments for audit and reporting purposes
  • Support payroll audits, compliance activities, and ongoing process improvements
  • Assist with tax and benefits administration, including state tax account access, compliance trackers, 401(k) contribution audits, and benefits cost reconciliation
  • Support month-end close activities, including payroll vendor reporting and invoice reconciliation
  • Monitor and route payroll, tax, and benefits-related correspondence

What we’re looking for

  • At least 1 year of hands-on payroll experience
  • Working knowledge of multi-state payroll and basic payroll tax requirements
  • Strong attention to detail and comfort auditing and reconciling data across systems
  • Proficiency with Excel and/or Google Sheets
  • Ability to manage deadlines, prioritize work, and collaborate cross-functionally in a remote environment
  • Experience with ADP or similar payroll systems is a plus
  • Exposure to international payroll is a plus

You’ll be successful in this role if you

  • Enjoy structured, process-driven work and thrive on accuracy
  • Keep calm during payroll cycles and follow through on details
  • Communicate clearly, document thoroughly, and flag issues early
  • Prefer clean reconciliations over “we’ll fix it next cycle”
