CC.Talent is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Payroll & Bookkeeping Administrator to support an Australian civil construction business. This role is critical in ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing, reconciliations, and day-to-day accounting administration.
The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with Australian payroll processes, is confident using Xero, and is comfortable working with timesheets generated from internal workforce or customer management systems. ABOUT THE CLIENT
Our client is an established Australian civil construction company with a strong operational footprint and a growing workforce. BSET is a purpose-built ERP, automation, and AI platform developed internally and currently operating as a live MVP within the business. Originally built using Claris FileMaker, BSET is now undergoing a full native rebuild using modern cloud architecture, including custom migration tooling to transition live data and workflows without disrupting day-to-day operations.
Responsibilities:
Process end-to-end payroll based on timesheets generated from an internal workforce/customer management system
Review, validate, and reconcile employee timesheets prior to payroll runs
Accurately calculate wages, allowances, overtime, and deductions
Maintain payroll records in line with Australian payroll requirements
Prepare payroll reports and respond to payroll-related queries
Maintain accurate financial records using Xero
Perform bank, payroll, and general ledger reconciliations
Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable as required
Support BAS preparation by ensuring payroll and expense data is accurate and up to date
Maintain proper documentation and audit-ready records
Navigate and manage timesheet data within internal systems
Liaise with internal stakeholders to resolve payroll discrepancies
Support finance and operations teams with general administrative tasks
Assist with process improvement and documentation of payroll and finance workflows
Minimum 3+ years’ experience in payroll, bookkeeping, or accounting administration
Strong hands-on experience using Xero for payroll and bookkeeping
Proven experience processing payroll using timesheets
Good understanding of Australian payroll standards (highly preferred)
Strong reconciliation skills with high attention to detail and data accuracy
Comfortable learning and navigating internal systems and new software
Strong written and verbal English communication skills
Highly organised, reliable, and able to work independently
Working Schedule:
Full-time, remote/offshore role
Working hours aligned with Australian business hours (AEST/AEDT)
Expected availability between 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM AU time (exact hours to be confirmed)
Must be comfortable working in real time with the Australian team
Nice to have:
Experience supporting Australian construction, earthworks, or trades-based businesses
Exposure to BAS, superannuation, and payroll compliance
Previous experience working remotely with Australian companies
