Role Overview

The PayOps Manager is responsible for managing and optimising payment operations across multiple markets. This role ensures the seamless processing of customer deposits, withdrawals, and reconciliations, while operationalising and managing company accounts to maintain liquidity and compliance. The PayOps Manager drives operational excellence by leading a team of analysts, improving processes, and collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Duties include, but not limited to.

  • Oversee daily payment operations, including deposits, withdrawals, refunds, reconciliations, and exception handling.
  • Operationalise and manage company accounts, ensuring accuracy, liquidity alignment, and timely settlements.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of payment analysts to maintain high performance and accountability.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal controls across all payment activities.
  • Act as the primary escalation point for complex payment-related cases, ensuring quick and effective resolution.
  • Be a key driver of the new treasury portal project to ensure all objectives and timelines of rollout are met.
  • Ensuring a rotational schedule is set up within the team so that only certain payops members need to be available after a certain time of the day, for instance ,once or twice a week rather than daily.
  • Be a key connection between the payops team and the reconciliations team to ensure the recons team understands all payments made by the payops team and that there are not too many after the fact queries by the recons team. 
  • Ensuring all bank accounts are properly added but also maintained in the treasury portal. 
  • Ensuring that for all operational processes, there are SOP’s that are properly signed off.
  • Ensuring that sufficient redundancy and access to critical bank accounts are setup across regions
  • Ensuring sufficient liquidity is maintained across bank accounts for operational and trading purposes
  • Ensuring that country exposure is effectively managed to reduce FX exposure in EM’s 
  • Proper management of ticketing system that is in place for all otc payment channels and providing monthly stats on these as a key KPI for the payops team. 


Requirements

  • 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in {add the preferred degrees here} or other related field.
  • Fluency in English, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and across different time zones.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and deliver results under pressure.
