Payment Operations Reconciliation Senior Specialist

We’re looking for a Senior Reconciliation Specialist to join our team in Austin. This role is a unique opportunity to have an impact on Wise’s mission, being a part of our international Operations team and helping save millions of people money.

Your mission: 

Wise has already pioneered new ways for people to transfer money across borders and currencies. Our customers can also manage their hard-earned money with the world’s first platform to offer true multi-currency banking

Here’s what you’ll be contributing to:

  • Perform and maintain high level execution of reconciliation related tasks 

    • Reconciliation of bank accounts

    • Payments and transactions reconciliation

    • Compensations reconciliation

    • Audit coordination

    • Other types of Payment Operations related reconciliation items

  • Investigate, resolve (or, where needed, notify Payments or Technical team about the need to resolve) and escalate reconciliation discrepancies in a timely manner

  • Work closely with Payments teams and ensure the correct processing of customer payments

  • Perform month-end close activities and reporting to Finance

  • Support building of reconciliation tooling and contribute towards making improvements to reconciliation flows and processes together with relevant Product and Engineering teams

  • You are great working in an autonomous set up whilst being a part of the team and validate your own work when needed.

  • You're comfortable with feedback and being part of a team where ideas are shared and openness is valued.

  • You’re proactive and a great relationship builder.

  • You are flexible with your work hours. We aim to help our global customers any time they need it, occasionally during weekends and holidays.

Some extra skills that would be great:

  • You have relevant experience working in operations/reconciliation and have an interest for investigation of discrepancies .

  • You’ve been a part of or have led cross functional projects that drive efficiency and scaling of manual work.

  • You know how to use data to prioritize tasks that have the most impact.

  • This is a hybrid position based in Austin, Texas, and is not remote.
  • Must already be legally authorized to work in the US, as this role cannot support visas.
