Patient Scheduling Coordinator (Ortho/Sports Med/PT) | Permanent WFH

We are seeking an experienced Patient Scheduling Coordinator with a strong background in Orthopedics, Sports Medicine, and Physical Therapy specialties. This role is critical in ensuring smooth patient flow, timely appointments, and excellent communication between patients, providers, and staff. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and thrives in a fast-paced medical environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Schedule and coordinate patient appointments across orthopedic, sports medicine, and physical therapy practices.
• Verify insurance information, authorizations, and referrals prior to scheduling.
• Manage high-volume inbound and outbound calls with professionalism and efficiency.
• Utilize RingCentral or similar communication software for patient coordination, messaging, and call management.
• Communicate appointment details, pre-visit instructions, and follow-up requirements to patients.
• Collaborate with providers, medical assistants, and administrative staff to ensure optimal scheduling and patient care.
• Maintain accurate records in the scheduling system and update patient information as needed.
• Handle cancellations, reschedules, and urgent appointment requests.
• Provide excellent customer service to patients, ensuring a positive experience.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Patient Scheduling Coordinator or in a similar healthcare administrative role.

• Experience in Orthopedics, Sports Medicine, and/or Physical Therapy specialties.
• Strong knowledge of insurance verification and referral/authorization processes.
• Proficiency in medical scheduling systems (EMR/EHR experience required; Athena, Epic, or equivalent preferred).
• Required: Knowledge of RingCentral or similar call management software.
• Excellent communication, multitasking, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume medical environment.
• Amenable to work during U.S. business working hours.
