About the Role

The purpose of this position is to research and resolve claim denials timely by identifying payer trends and working to get them resolved on a payer level, reducing timely filing and preventing claims from rolling over a 90 day AR.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain aged insurance accounts receivable (AR) queues at a reasonable stage as defined by leadership
  • Meet quality metrics and key performance indicators as defined by leadership
  • Responsible for reviewing and appealing denied claims
  • Provide clinical documentation as needed for escalated appeals
  • Responsible for timely follow-up on all appeal submissions
  • Identify payer trends related to denials and work with the team to get them resolved
  • Collaborate with other departments throughout the company to ensure smooth and efficient operations
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with payers, teammates and leadership

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in insurance account receivable department, preferably in behavioral health
  • Knowledge of payer specific billing requirements, including Medicaid 
  • Highly organized and able to track workflows through various tools
  • Strict attention to detail with excellent organization and time management skills
  • Maintain a high level of integrity and confidentiality (HIPAA)
  • Familiarity with and willingness to use cloud-based communication software—Google Suite, Slack, Zoom, Dropbox, Salesforce–in addition to EMR software on a daily basis.

The total target base compensation for this role will be between $44,000 and $60,000 per year at the commencement of employment. In addition to base compensation, this role also offers a performance bonus. The expected total cash compensation range, including potential bonus, will be between $46,000 and $63,000 per year. Please note, pay will be determined on an individualized basis and will be impacted by location, experience, expertise, internal pay equity, and other relevant business considerations. Further, cash compensation is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may include stock options and other Charlie Health-sponsored benefits.
