We are looking for a highly energetic, results driven and experienced Pastry Chef to join our hospitality group, which is focused on offering a luxurious experience for our guests.

The ideal candidate exhibits creative baking and decorating talents by personally performing tasks while leading the staff in preparing quality and consistent pastries for all areas. Works to continually improve guest and employee satisfaction while maintaining the operating budget. Leads development and training of team to improve results while maintaining standards. Must ensure sanitation and food standards are achieved.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Work enthusiastically as a member of our busy kitchen team.
  • Operate the Pastry section to a high standard.
  • Maintain fridges and other food storage areas, monitoring and recording temperatures.
  • Cook and plate food according to agreed recipes and standards of mise en place.
  • Operate ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers in a safe manner & ensuring correctness of temperatures.
  • Set-up and break down work station, washing and disinfecting kitchen area, tables, tools, knives, and equipment.

Requirements

  • Degree from an accredited university in Culinary Arts, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major;
  • 4 years of experience in the culinary, food and beverage, or related professional area. (preferably Michelin* restaurant experience)
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment and cope with pressure
  • Attention to detail
  • Strong leadership Skills
  • Someone with a hands-on, pro-active approach; taking personal responsibility and initiative to prevent or resolve problems
