We are seeking a local, hands-on recruiter based in Los Angeles to support in-person research and data-collection projects. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, execution-heavy environment and enjoys seeing immediate, tangible results from their work. This position is particularly well-suited for individuals with experience supporting high-volume, one-time or short-term gigs (such as events, field work, promotions, pop-ups, brand activations, research studies, or similar). Speed, follow-through, and reliability are critical to success. 

 

This is not a traditional corporate recruiting role. Success in this role requires comfort working in the field, engaging directly with communities, and owning recruiting outcomes end-to-end. 

 

You will own the local recruiting pipeline, working closely with our on-site operations team and remote project leadership to ensure we consistently meet participant recruitment goals. 

 

This is a contract role with potential for extension based on performance and project needs. 

 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Community & Field RecruitingSource participants through in-person outreach, distribute approved recruiting materials in relevant, high-traffic locations, build and maintain relationships with local organizations and community partners 
  • Participant Screening & CommunicationScreen prospective participants based on project criteria, contact participants via phone, text, or email to confirm eligibility and availability, ensure understanding of session expectations and logistics 
  • Pipeline Ownership: Own the local recruiting pipeline from initial outreach through session completion, schedule, confirm, and track participants using shared toolsmaintain accurate records of outreach, confirmations, and attendance, adjust recruiting strategies as needed to meet volume and targets. 
  • On-Site Collaboration & Reporting: Visit the local office regularly to align with leadership, understand demand and priorities, gather real-time feedback on quality and attendance, provide regular updates on recruiting progress, risks, and results, communicate proactively with project leadership and operations partners 
  • Collaborate with hiring managers to understand project-specific staffing needs 
  • Source, screen, and engage candidates for freelance, contract, and gig-based roles 
  • Utilize innovative recruitment strategies tailored to short-term hiring 
  • Maintain a pipeline of qualified candidates across various skill sets 
  • Assess candidate fit for project requirements 
  • Manage job postings across platforms and track performance 
  • Reach out directly to candidates via phone, LinkedIn, or using your personal network 
  • Ensure a smooth onboarding process for selected candidates 
  • Provide regular updates and insights to stakeholders on recruitment progress 

 

Qualifications 

  • Strong understanding of short-term project dynamics and talent needs 
  • Proficiency with sourcing tools, job boards, and social media platforms 
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skills 
  • Highly organized, reliable, and self-directed with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment 
  • Comfortable with in-person outreachdirect participant communication and familiarity with Los Angeles neighborhoods and community networks 
  • Professional and comfortable representing the company in community settings 
  • Experience recruiting for events, field work, research studies, or gig-based roles 

 

Compensation & Employment Details 

  • $30/hour (W-2 employee) 
  • Hours may vary based on project needs; some evenings or weekends may be required 
  • Duration: Approximately 3 months
