Work Schedule: This role is expected to align with the AU business hours (approx. 9 AM - 5 PM, Monday to Friday) for collaboration, but as a contractor, you’ll have flexibility in how you manage your time.

Role Overview: As a Paraplanner, you will act as a high-level technical partner to our financial advisers, taking full ownership of complex advice strategies. With 5+ years of experience, you will not only produce high-quality Statements of Advice (SOAs) but also serve as a quality gatekeeper, reviewing and improving our advice documents to ensure they meet the highest standards. You will manage the workflow to ensure efficiency and act as a trusted technical resource for the team, providing insights on complex scenarios and regulatory requirements.

You will be paid half-monthly upon invoice for actual days and hours worked, and includes a 13th-month bonus plus 30% to 100% loading for any required public holiday work. You will be responsible for your own taxes and insurance, ensuring all leave is pre-approved and documented on your invoices while maintaining high-quality support for advisers and their ongoing compliance requirements.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Complex Paraplanning: Lead the research and drafting of high-level, complex advice strategies across various financial areas.
  • Quality Control: Review advice documents produced by the team, providing feedback and improving templates for better clarity and compliance.
  • Workflow Management: Oversee the paraplanning pipeline to ensure all deadlines are met without compromising quality.
  • Technical Support: Serve as a subject matter expert for advisers, helping them navigate technical questions and strategy development.

Requirements

  • Ideally minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
  • Proven ability to handle complex strategies, including Self-Managed Super Funds

(SMSF), Centrelink Strategies, Tax minimization using the correct Superannuation Type, Recontribution Strategies, Personal Insurance advice, and sophisticated investment structures.

  • RG146 achievement shows us an overall understanding of the Australian Financial Planning laws.
    • A Degree in Finance, Commerce, or Economics is highly desirable.
    • A Degree in other fields will also show us general capabilities.
  • Prior experience in a Quality Assurance or similar role, where you have critiqued and improved others’ technical work is nice to have.
  • Proficiency in any financial planning software especially XPLAN.
  • Ability to take complex financial concepts and turn them into clear, concise, and compliant prose.
  • Has exceptional attention to detail when it comes to document formatting, data accuracy, and compliance checks.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with and challenge advisers on strategy outcomes.
