We have an opening for an experienced Painter Decorator to join us on a permanent basis, carrying out painting and decorating work and general maintenance to our homes across the Bradford district.

Monday to Friday - 37 hours per week, working pattern will be on a 9 week rota.

Week 1-8 is 08:00 - 16:00 Monday to Thursday, 08:00 - 15:30 Friday

Week 9 is 10:00 - 18:00 one day only between Monday - Thursday, 08:00 - 15:30 Friday

Duties include:

  • Carry out painting and decorating work and general maintenance to our properties to the highest standard.
  • Work inside and outside throughout the year.
  • Assess work required and make recommendations on action to be taken, ensuring this is reported back to the Repairs Service Centre if it is outside of your core trade in order for them to arrange another team to attend.
  • Identify the materials and equipment required for the task to be completed.
  • Update system information through Dynamic Repairs Scheduler.
  • Communicate the work undertaken with the customer, using patience to ensure they are satisfied and are aware of the process that needs to be taken.
  • Abide by the requirements of HASAWA and all other related safety regulations.
  • Originate, maintain and provide updated work documentation as required.
  • Driving to and from premises around the Bradford district.

Requirements

  • A minimum of an NVQ Level 2 in Painting and Decorating or equivalent qualifications.
  • A full manual UK current driving license
  • An awareness of Health and Safety systems such as COSHH, HASAWA as well as Manual Handling safety regulations.
  • A full set of your own tools.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills including being able to listen to customer problems and be clear on what process we will undertake to fix the problem

A basic DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check will be required for the successful candidate as part of the pre-employment process - Criminal Conviction Checks
