This role is pivotal in ensuring the quality, efficiency, and safety of our painting and loading operations while fostering a collaborative and productive work environment. Position Summary: The Paint/Blast/Loading Lead will oversee painting, sand blasting, and loading operations, ensuring adherence to project specifications, quality standards, and delivery schedules. This individual will work closely with management and other departments to coordinate operations, train team members, and maintain compliance with all safety and quality protocols. The role requires strong leadership skills and a hands-on approach to managing daily activities and achieving operational goals. Staffing and Training:
  • Participate in interviewing candidates to ensure hiring of qualified individuals or trainable talent with the right skills and attitude.
  • Oversee and facilitate the training of new employees within the paint department.
  • Quality and Compliance:
  • Ensure all required paint documentation is completed daily.
  • Perform daily checks using gauges, meters, and testing equipment to ensure proper calibration and operation.
  • Conduct QA/QC checks to ensure the finished product meets project and manufacturer specifications.
  • Operational Oversight:
  • Ensure load tickets are detailed, accurate, and entered into production/shipping software. Provide training to employees on the system as needed.
  • Coordinate with logistics, production, and management to assign painting and loading tasks based on workflow needs.
  • Maintain awareness of daily schedules, ensuring the painting and loading team meets delivery dates, including overtime and weekends as necessary.
  • Identify and recommend operational improvements for management review.
  • Safety and Discipline:
  • Enforce strict adherence to all safety protocols and ensure team compliance.
  • Participate in employee corrective action and progressive discipline programs as needed.
