Paid Performance Marketing Specialist

TLDR

Support the execution and optimization of our Google Ads program, turning data into scalable growth through innovative campaign management and performance monitoring.

Location: Remote
Department: Marketing
Reports To: Director, Growth Marketing

About the Role

We are looking for a Paid Performance Marketing Specialist to support the day-to-day execution and optimization of our Google Ads program. This is a hands-on role for someone who loves performance marketing, thrives in a fast-paced testing environment, and knows how to turn data into scalable growth.

You will be responsible for launching and managing campaigns across Google Ads (Search, Performance Max, YouTube), monitoring performance daily, and continuously optimizing toward key KPIs, including ROAS, CAC, and new customer acquisition.

You will work closely with our Growth Marketing Director to execute strategy, scale successful tests, and ensure campaigns are running efficiently across key markets and audience segments. You will also play a key role in shaping ad creative direction by collaborating with our designers and video editors to develop high-performing assets and messaging.

This is an ideal role for someone who is both analytical and creative. Someone who can confidently execute in-platform while also contributing to smarter testing, better creative, and stronger performance over time.

Key Responsibilities

Google Ads Execution & Campaign Management

  • Build, launch, and manage campaigns across Google Ads, including Search, Performance Max, and YouTube.
  • Own day-to-day campaign operations, including launching campaigns and tests, implementing changes, and ongoing platform management.
  • Implement geo segmentation and journey-stage segmentation strategies across campaigns.
  • Support keyword research, search term reviews, and negative keyword scrubbing to improve efficiency and reduce wasted spend.
  • Manage campaign structure, bidding strategies, audience targeting, and creative rotations to improve results.

Optimization & Performance Monitoring

  • Monitor performance daily and identify opportunities to improve ROAS, CAC, and conversion volume.
  • Diagnose performance trends, spot anomalies early, and proactively recommend optimizations.
  • Continuously test bidding strategies, audiences, creatives, and landing page approaches.
  • Scale what works through structured experimentation and performance-driven iteration.
  • Identify inefficiencies and develop repeatable processes to improve performance across markets.

Budget Management & Reporting

  • Support monthly budget pacing and spend allocation across campaigns and campaign types.
  • Ensure campaigns are tracking correctly and spending aligns with performance expectations.
  • Pull weekly, monthly, and quarterly performance reports with clear insights and recommendations.
  • Help maintain dashboards and reporting documentation to support strategic decisions.
  • Track learnings across tests and contribute to internal documentation of what is working and why.

Creative Development & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with graphic designers and video editors to bring performance-driven creative concepts to life.
  • Write and optimize ad copy for static ads and video-based campaigns across the Google Ads ecosystem.
  • Use performance data to inform creative direction, messaging angles, and new asset requests.
  • Help balance brand standards with acquisition goals across ad creative and copy.
  • Create clear creative briefs and ensure creative assets are delivered, QA’d, and launched on time.

Testing & Growth Experimentation

  • Contribute to test ideation by forming hypotheses, designing experiments, and defining measurement plans.
  • Support A/B testing initiatives across creative, campaign structures, targeting, bidding, and landing pages.
  • Share learnings with stakeholders and help turn insights into scalable improvements.

Process Improvement & Operational Excellence

  • Help improve internal paid media workflows and documentation to keep execution organized.
  • Support agile, transparent communication across stakeholders and ensure alignment on priorities.
  • Assist with campaign QA and troubleshooting, including tracking, landing pages, and platform setup issues.

Qualifications

Must-Have Experience

  • 2 to 3+ years of hands-on experience managing paid media campaigns (Google Ads required).
  • Strong working knowledge of Google Ads, including campaign setup, optimization, and reporting.
  • Experience running Performance Max and YouTube campaigns, including creative asset management.
  • Strong analytical skills and comfort working with performance metrics like ROAS, CAC, CTR, CVR, CPA, and AOV.
  • Experience writing and testing ad copy, messaging angles, and creative variations.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to QA campaigns, assets, and tracking.
  • Comfortable working with spreadsheets, reporting, and performance dashboards.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple campaigns and priorities at once.
  • Clear communication skills and confidence in presenting performance insights and recommendations.

Technical Skills (Expected)

  • Google Ads platform expertise
  • Keyword research and search term optimization
