Our partner is seeking a Packaging Operator II to support the packaging of Dry Powder Inhalation (DPI) products in a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment. This role operates packaging equipment, follows established Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), and adheres to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure product quality and efficient operations. The position may also provide operational support to warehouse, manufacturing, and facilities functions when needed.

Schedule: Second Shift, 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM (may vary based on business needs)
Employment Type: Full-Time, Non-Exempt (Hourly)
Pay Range: $18.72/hour – $26.00/hour
Reports To: Packaging Supervisor

Responsibilities

  • Operate pharmaceutical packaging equipment while maintaining established quality standards and minimizing rejection rates.
  • Clean machines and packaging areas during batch-to-batch and product changeovers.
  • Perform routine operation and preventative maintenance of packaging equipment.
  • Identify packaging-related issues and assist with corrective actions.
  • Maintain correct status labeling throughout all stages of the packaging line.
  • Ensure equipment calibration is completed and documented appropriately.
  • Perform line clearance prior to initiating packaging activities.
  • Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) according to standard operating procedures.
  • Complete documentation accurately and within required timelines.
  • Follow cGMP requirements, regulatory standards, and company policies.
  • Operate equipment safely according to health and safety procedures and equipment manuals.
  • Report operational issues to the appropriate supervisor or manager.
  • Perform daily maintenance activities on equipment and machinery.
  • Assist with training employees within the department when required.
  • Support warehouse, manufacturing, or facilities operations when assigned.
  • Work both independently and collaboratively with team members to complete assigned tasks.
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Accredited college certificate or university degree preferred.
  • At least one (1) year of experience in packaging operations preferred.
  • Proficiency in English (speaking, reading, and writing) to follow work instructions and complete documentation.
  • Knowledge of cGMP and regulatory requirements in a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Basic understanding of mechanical machinery and control system operating principles.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of health and safety procedures, including OSHA guidelines.
  • Basic mathematical and organizational skills.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, bending, and moving materials as required.
  • Ability to frequently lift up to 5 pounds, occasionally up to 25 pounds, and rarely up to 50 pounds using equipment such as a hand truck.
  • Ability to wear required PPE, including respiratory protection such as air purifying respirators (APR) or supplied air respirators (SAR).
