Position Overview

Faith in Place is seeking a part-time Illinois Outreach Support staff member to provide short-term capacity support for outreach and organizing efforts in Southern and Metro East Illinois. This role is designed to strengthen relationship-building, event support, and program coordination during a focused six-month period.


The Illinois Outreach Support position is ideal for someone who is community-rooted, organized, and comfortable supporting grassroots engagement efforts in collaboration with staff, congregations, and local partners.


Key Responsibilities



Outreach & Relationship Support

  • Support outreach efforts with congregations, Green Teams, and community partners in Southern and Metro East Illinois.
  • Assist with follow-ups, scheduling, and coordination related to outreach activities.
  • Support relationship maintenance by tracking contacts, notes, and next steps in Monday.com.

Program & Event Support

  • Assist with planning and logistics for outreach events, workshops, and gatherings.
  • Support on-the-ground event needs when applicable, including setup, registration, and participant coordination.
  • Help prepare outreach materials and resources as needed.

Organizing & Administrative Support

  • Maintain accurate records of outreach activities and participation.
  • Coordinate with the Illinois Outreach Director to support short-term priorities and deliverables.


Qualifications

  • Connection to or familiarity with Southern and/or Metro East Illinois communities.
  • Experience or interest in community outreach, organizing, faith-based work, or environmental justice.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Comfortable working independently with clear guidance and check-ins.
  • Basic comfort with digital tools such as Microsoft Suite and Monday.com and shared tracking systems.
  • Alignment with Faith in Place’s mission and values.

Work Expectations

  • This is a part-time, hourly, 6-month contract position.
  • Work hours are flexible within agreed-upon weekly expectations.
  • Some evening or weekend availability may be required for events or meetings.
  • This role may involve local travel within Southern and Metro East Illinois.

Compensation & Term

  • $25 per hour for 8–12 hours per week.
  • Six-month contract, with a defined scope of work and clear priorities.
  • This position does not include benefits.
