Origination Intern

As we continue to evolve our client portfolio and expand, MET Energia Italia is now looking for a talented Origination Intern, who will be contributing to the growth of the company in the Italian market.

Within your first weeks you will receive a full training on the job so you have to be an eager learner in order to build your competencies that will render you independent. But we do not bring people aboard just to replicate what we already do, so at the same time you will have to identify potential areas of optimization and present your suggestions in a structured manner to the Head of Origination.

Step by step you will take on several activities that are part of the main duties within the Origination team, bringing your invaluable contribution to our daily operations:

• Provide outstanding support to originate and develop business opportunities in the power sourcing domain, including assisting in building a portfolio of power producers, contributing to the set-up of commercial relationship and procurement contracts and learning to structure and propose Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) and innovative contractual solutions
• Collaborate in identifying new opportunities in the wholesale energy market
• Helping to establish connections with producers, end users, and brokers
• Supporting the launch of new ideas and projects to grow the business
• Be active and ready to take on new challenges in other areas of MET should this become your desire

• BSc or MSc in Business, Finance, Economics, or Engineering (preferably Energy Engineering), with a strong academic record
• Previous basic experience in a similar role within the Energy sector (power and/or gas) is preferred but not mandatory
• Knowledge of the Italian energy market, including regulatory, economic, and competitive landscapes
• Strong analytical mindset, familiarity with market analysis tools and techniques is an advantage
• Excellent communication and active listening skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with clients and cross-functional teams to achieve shared business goals
• Proactive, results-driven, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
• Well organized, autonomous with time management and planning skills
• Fluent in Italian with a strong command of English
• Proficient in MS Office, with advanced skills in Excel and Outlook
