Optimizely Solution Architect

AI overview

Lead technical delivery of Optimizely solutions across CMS and Commerce, engaging clients and ensuring project success through strong technical oversight and collaboration.

About the Role

The Optimizely Solution Architect in the Digital Operations Service department serves as the technical leader and primary point of accountability for delivering high-quality Optimizely-based digital solutions. This role is ideal for an emerging architect ready to take ownership of project technical streams, guide development teams, and ensure successful, on-time, and on-budget delivery.

You will work closely with clients, product owners, architects, and cross-functional teams to design, implement, and optimize enterprise-grade Optimizely solutions across CMS, Commerce, and integrations.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership & Delivery Ownership

  • Act as the single point of accountability for the technical delivery of assigned projects.
  • Lead the end-to-end technical stream for Optimizely implementations, ensuring delivery is on time, on budget, and meets quality standards.
  • Own the architectural vision, system design, and solution integrity across all project phases.
  • Guide developers, review code, provide best practices, and ensure alignment with Optimizely and enterprise standards.

Project & Team Management

  • Provide accurate effort estimations, manage development scope, and proactively handle risks, issues, and blockers.
  • Navigate complexities and ambiguity with confidence—driving solutions that balance elegance, performance, and practicality.
  • Maintain team health by managing workload, collaborating effectively, and supporting a constructive project culture.
  • Collaborate with PMs, business stakeholders, and QA to ensure seamless execution of the technical track.

Client Engagement & Stakeholder Leadership

  • Serve as a trusted technical advisor to clients—building and maintaining strong, long-term relationships.
  • Translate business goals into scalable, usable technical solutions that align with Optimizely capabilities.
  • Communicate architectural decisions, trade-offs, and risks clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Cross-Project & Multi-Tasking Excellence

  • Support and contribute to multiple projects when required without compromising quality or timelines.
  • Provide technical oversight, best practice guidance, and solution governance across Digital Operation Services engagements.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 5–7 years of relevant experience in technical roles such as Technical Lead or Architect.
  • Strong expertise in Optimizely CMS (v12 or SaaS), Optimizely Commerce, and related products.
  • Proficiency in C#, .NET, headless architectures, integrations (REST/GraphQL), and cloud-native patterns.
  • Demonstrated experience designing scalable, secure, and maintainable digital solutions.
  • Excellent problem-solving capabilities—comfortable dealing with ambiguity and complex systems.
  • Proven ability to balance technical depth with strong people management and project leadership.
  • Experience working directly with clients and managing stakeholder expectations.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to guide teams toward shared outcomes.

Nice-to-Have

  • Optimizely certifications (e.g., CMS Developer, Commerce Developer, or PaaS Administrator).
  • Experience with DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud environments like Azure.
  • Exposure to frontend technologies such as React, Vue, or Next.js.
