The Role
Purpose of the role
Getting the business to run more efficiently enables everyone in the organization to get things done better and faster. As the Operations Specialist, you'll be part of a dedicated team that will ensure processes are as good as they can be, improving the running of all areas of the business, from operational efficiency to organisational culture and performance; enabling a more productive, and effective running of the business. You'll implement new systems, streamline processes, and lead internal projects to drive forward continuous improvement. Your role is pivotal in optimizing our business, driving us forward, and empowering us to do things in a better and more data driven way.
Team
Reporting to the Senior Operations Specialist, you will support in improving all areas of the business including finance, IT, administration, TA, HR and consultancy. We collaborate closely with all these teams to ensure all things Operations, go as smoothly as possible.
You will also have the close support of the Head of Operations who will provide oversight and guidance, working collaboratively with you and your lead to achieve our organization's goals effectively.

Your top 5 responsibilities
As the Operations Specialist at Laminar Projects, you'll bring your knowledge of how systems works and how information circulates around a company, ensuring we have the right processes and systems across the business; constantly looking for improvement opportunities.
1. Internal Initiatives: Support and drive forward internal improvement projects that focus on operational excellence and regulatory compliance, collaborating with different teams within the organization.
2. Process Improvement: Identify operational inefficiencies and champion a culture of relentless pursuit of excellence and continuous improvement.
3. Performance Measurement and Process Auditing: Develop and monitor operational metrics to ensure efficiency and compliance.
· Horizontal Learner and Implementor: Versatile learner adept at applying knowledge and skills across diverse disciplines, facilitating informed decision-making and effective initiative implementation.
· Leadership: Support the leadership team by demonstrating exemplary behaviours and attitude to personal and professional development
Your Capabilities
You will be a proven all arounder who knows how to switch between being a project manager, team player, communicator, researcher and doer – all with the goal of making things better.
Must-Have (The fundamentals)
Mastery:
- An understanding of business processes
- A good grasp of evidence-gathering and research techniques
- Proficiency in analysing data and identifying areas for improvement
- Proficiency in qualitative and quantitative data gather
- Demonstratable involvement in the development of thoughtfully designed systems or processes and implementing them across a business
- Experience in project management
- A good problem-solver
- An understanding of change management approaches
Communication:
- Precise and structured communicator both written and verbal in English.
- Strong presentation skills, capable of influencing stakeholders at all levels.
- Proficiency in using communication and collaboration tools such as Microsoft Office Suite
Leadership:
- An understanding of leadership styles and when to use them.
- A people-centric approach to leadership and development.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
Impact:
- A track record of making organisations better beyond just doing the basics.

Mastery:
· Excellent Excel skills and a strong interest in data management.
· Project Management Professional (PMP) or Change Management certification.
- Experience with process improvement methodologies and change management.
