Job Summary

The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing daily production operations within Cicoil’s cable and wire assembly facility. This role ensures that production targets are met efficiently, safely, and to the highest quality standards. The manager leads and supports a team of production staff, optimizing production, coordinating product schedules, and driving continuous improvement initiatives across the production floor. Success in this role means delivering high-quality products on time while fostering a culture of accountability, safety, and team development. Minimum Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing engineering or equivalent.

Experience:

  • Five (5) years of managerial experience in manufacturing. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.

Knowledge:

  • Administration and Management – Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership techniques, production methods, and coordination of people and resources. 
  • Production and Processing – Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods. 
  • Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) – Knowledge of environmental regulations, occupational health standards, and safety management systems involved in maintaining compliance with OSHA, EPA, and ISO 14001 requirements; includes hazard identification, risk mitigation, waste management, and the development of safety policies and training programs. 
  • Root Cause Analysis (RCA) – Knowledge of structured problem-solving methodologies; includes identifying, isolating, and eliminating process or product failures, implementing corrective and preventive actions, and driving continuous improvement through data-driven investigations and cross-functional collaboration. 
  •  Cable and Wire Manufacturing (Preferred) – Knowledge of electrical cable and wire harness production methods, materials, and standards, including IPC/WHMA-A-620, and AS9100; involves extrusion, overmolding, crimping, soldering, testing, and quality assurance processes required for aerospace and defense applications.
  • Bilingual – English and Spanish highly preferred

Job Responsibilities

Production Operations 

  • Assess and maintain manufacturing capacity by analyzing equipment utilization, staffing levels, and process bottlenecks to support current and forecasted demand. 
  • Monitor and analyze production efficiency metrics to identify performance gaps, waste, and process variation, driving corrective actions and sustainable improvements. 
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on lean manufacturing, 5S, and workflow optimization to enhance productivity and reduce operational costs.

Team Leadership & Development 

  • Develop and implement cross-training programs to enhance workforce flexibility, improve coverage across critical operations, and reduce downtime related to resource constraints. 
  • Oversee employee development through structured training, coaching, and performance evaluations that align with company goals and promote continuous skill advancement. 
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, and Supply Chain teams to improve manufacturability, streamline processes, and ensure alignment with safety and compliance standards.

Materials, Inventory and Production Planning 

  • Coordinate production scheduling, materials planning, and inventory control to ensure on-time delivery of customer orders while minimizing excess inventory and carrying costs. 
  • Implement standardized operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistency, compliance, and efficiency across all production and support functions. 
  • Drive cost reduction initiatives by analyzing overhead expenses, negotiating vendor agreements, and optimizing resource allocation without compromising quality or safety. 
  • Oversee maintenance programs to ensure equipment reliability, reduce unplanned downtime, and extend asset life through preventive and predictive maintenance practices.

Financial Management 

  • Collaborate with Finance and Supply Chain to develop and manage operational budgets, ensuring performance goals are met within financial targets. 
  • Leverage data analytics and ERP/MES systems to enhance visibility into operations, improve forecasting accuracy, and support data-driven decision-making.

Other responsibilities, initiatives and ad-hoc projects as required.

Personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn as required by company policy and safety regulations.

This position requires the use of information or access to hardware and documents that are subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be able to comply with the requirements of ITAR and other U.S. export control laws.  

Compensation: $140,000 - $160,000
