As part of our ongoing commitment to developing our people, products and plants, we have a new and exciting opportunity for an Operations Manager to lead our manufacturing site in Maltby.

You’ll report to our Site Operations Manager and have full operational accountability for the site, leading circa 9 direct reports and up to 40 colleagues across manufacturing. This is a pivotal leadership role requiring a visible, values-led approach to drive performance, engagement, and operational excellence.

You will provide visible, values-led leadership across the site, fostering a high-performance culture built on safety, accountability, and continuous improvement. You will lead, develop, and empower our Team Leaders and operational teams, ensuring everyone is aligned with our business objectives. By focusing on structured performance management and coaching, you will drive engagement and build the internal capability needed for long-term succession.

You will be the driving force behind our operational excellence! You will take full ownership of SHEQ and IMS standards, moving beyond simple compliance to embed a proactive safety and quality mindset into the fabric of the site. By balancing disciplined execution with cross-functional collaboration, you will ensure our KPIs are consistently met and exceeded. You will also maintain a sharp eye for the finer details of the operation, constantly seeking ways to optimise OEE, tighten cost controls, and improve equipment reliability to keep us running at our absolute best.

You’ll also play a pivotal role in the long-term success of the business. Whether you are leading incident management or spearheading continuous improvement initiatives, you will be the person we look to for turning operational challenges into long-term wins. As the deputy to the Site Operations Manager, you will provide essential strategic and operational support, stepping up to lead when required and helping to shape the future direction of the entire site.

What are the mission-critical skills?

  • Proven leadership experience in a medium/large manufacturing environment
  • Strong people management capability, with a track record of developing high-performing teams
  • Ability to drive engagement, accountability, and a positive performance culture
  • Experience using structured performance management processes (1:1s, PDPs, workforce planning)
  • Experience managing KPIs, budgets, and operational performance metrics (e.g., OEE, cost control, waste reduction)
  • Sound knowledge of (SHEQ) standards and compliance frameworks
  • Demonstrable experience in continuous improvement and change management initiatives
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder management skills
  • Effective decision-making under pressure, with a proactive, solutions-focused mindset
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence at all levels
