Operations Manager

Overview:

Join a company with over 80 years of uninterrupted success supplying critical chemicals to stable industries. Our flagship 24/7 facility, with approximately 60 employees, is seeking a dynamic Plant General Manager to lead operations, drive safety and performance, and work closely with both management and hourly teams. This role reports to a Regional Manager and offers significant advancement potential into regional management roles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic and operational leadership for the plant, ensuring continuous improvement and high-quality production.
  • Directly manage 2 production managers and a small team of supervisors, fostering a collaborative and accountable work environment.
  • Maintain a strong floor presence by actively engaging with operations and hourly personnel to drive high safety standards and performance.
  • Oversee production planning, scheduling, and implementation of lean practices to optimize efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Manage full P&L for the site, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial performance reporting.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for escalated issues, coordinating resolutions with cross-functional teams and ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Lead project initiatives aimed at process enhancements and operational excellence while maintaining rigorous compliance with safety protocols.

Requirements

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field; an advanced degree is a plus.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ leadership experience in a manufacturing or chemical production environment.
  • Proven experience managing 24/7 operations
  • Strong knowledge of production planning, safety protocols, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Exceptional leadership, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills with a hands-on management style.
  • Experience with ERP systems and production planning software is preferred.
