Overview of Opportunity

Two Six Technologies is seeking a Part-Time Operational Systems Administrator Co-op to support the design, deployment, and maintenance of complex systems powering advanced cybersecurity research and development efforts. As a co-op team member, you’ll gain hands-on experience managing custom systems, networks, and systems-under-test alongside engineers developing next-generation solutions for national security and critical mission needs.

This role offers an exciting opportunity for a technically driven student or early-career professional to grow their expertise across system administration, cybersecurity, and computer network operations (CNO) while working in a dynamic R&D environment.

What You Will Do:

Collaborate with senior engineers to ensure complex systems are configured, maintained, and ready for operational use.
Support rapid development and integration cycles across multiple projects.
Assist with automation of processes, testing, and system monitoring.
Learn and apply core cybersecurity principles in real-world lab environments.
Contribute to cross-team collaboration, troubleshooting, and IT support efforts.
Communicate effectively with internal teams and customers to resolve technical issues.

What You Will Need (Basic Qualifications):

At least 1 year of experience configuring, designing, administering, or maintaining Linux servers or workstations (through coursework, projects, or internships).
Working knowledge of the Linux command line.
Familiarity with scripting languages such as Python or Bash.
Basic understanding of infrastructure automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Docker).
Ability to work onsite at our Arlington, VA headquarters on a part-time basis (approximately 15–25 hours per week).

Nice to Haves (Preferred):

Experience working in or supporting classified lab networks (SCIF or SAPF environments).
Knowledge of mid-level network devices, including managed switches and routers.
Familiarity with LDAP/Kerberos authentication protocols.
Experience with virtualization or containerization technologies.

Security Clearance:

Must be eligible and willing to obtain a U.S. security clearance.
