Operational Excellence Associate

AI overview

Drive significant operational improvements by eliminating inefficiencies and implementing strategic changes in a rapidly growing fintech environment.

About Selina

At Selina Finance, our mission is to provide exceptional value with simple and flexible financial products. We’re achieving this by building a next-generation digital lender targeting homeowners across the UK. More than £2tn of equity value is locked up in UK homes, while homeowners still need to rely on high-interest-rate consumer loans, credit cards, or overdrafts. We believe this is unfair and unnecessary. We offer a financing product unlike anything else out there, one that is as flexible as a current account, as affordable as a mortgage, and as easy to apply for as a consumer loan.

We are building an incredible team and culture of high performance, development, reward and recognition, ready for the next phase of our adventure, and this is where you come in!

We have quite a few things to be proud of:

🌏 We have 19 different nationalities across our London + Manchester offices

🏆 Voted as ‘one of the fastest-growing businesses in the UK’ by Business Leader Growth 500 for 2025

🏆 Voted top 30 of ‘Tempos 100 best start-ups to work for 2023’

Purpose of the Role

The Operational Excellence Associate exists to help the organisation do more with less by eliminating inefficient, low-value, or unnecessary processes at their root — not by incrementally improving them, but by redesigning or removing them altogether.

Partnering closely with the Operational Excellence Manager and senior stakeholders, the role drives high-impact operational improvements and structural changes that improve scalability, efficiency, and outcomes.

What will you be doing?

  • Partner closely with the Operational Excellence Manager to translate strategic priorities into clear operational plans and execution roadmaps

  • Prepare high-quality analysis, insights, and recommendations to support decision-making at leadership level

  • Own the identification and implementation of process improvements across operations

  • Map end-to-end processes, identify bottlenecks, and quantify operational inefficiencies

  • Lead defined operational projects end-to-end, from problem definition through to delivery and measurement, with support of the operational excellence manager

  • Coordinate cross-functional stakeholders (Ops, Tech, Product, Risk) to ensure timely execution and implement system enhancements

  • Track milestones, risks, and dependencies, proactively unblocking issues

  • Conduct deep-dive operational analysis to identify performance gaps, root causes, and improvement opportunities

  • Build clear, structured models and analyses to support business cases and prioritisation decisions
