Our client in the Information Technology and Services industry is looking for a OpenShift Administrator to support the deployment, configuration, and ongoing management of OpenShift clusters hosting workloads migrated from VMware. This role focuses on ensuring platform stability, security, and performance while enabling automation and seamless integration throughout the migration process. The OpenShift Administrator will work closely with infrastructure, DevOps, and application teams to maintain a resilient and scalable container platform.

What you will do:

  • Deploy, configure, and manage OpenShift clusters supporting workloads migrated from VMware.
  • Perform cluster installation, upgrades, patching, and scaling to meet operational and business requirements.
  • Configure and manage networking components, including CNI plugins, ingress controllers, and load balancers, to ensure secure and reliable connectivity.
  • Integrate storage solutions with OpenShift clusters to maintain performance, availability, and resilience.
  • Monitor cluster health and performance, carrying out proactive maintenance and troubleshooting activities.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure and DevOps teams to support automation and integration during platform migration.
  • Manage user access, security policies, and resource quotas within OpenShift environments.
  • Ensure adherence to security, governance, and regulatory standards across all platforms and environments.
  • Strong hands-on experience administering OpenShift and Kubernetes environments, including cluster installation and lifecycle management.
  • Solid background in Linux system administration and troubleshooting.
  • Good understanding of networking concepts such as CNI, ingress, and load balancers, as well as storage integration.
  • Experience with automation tools such as Ansible and Terraform, and scripting using Bash or Python.
  • Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools including Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities with strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Engaged via PAYE through an umbrella company.
