The Survey and Inspection department in DOF Subsea Atlantic is currently looking for dynamic, detail-oriented, and collaborative individuals to join our team as an Online Surveyor.

What You'll Do

  • Operate Survey Equipment: Use state-of-the-art technology to collect, analyse, and record data to the highest standards, ensuring everything is accurate and up to regulations. Prepare, use, and maintain all relevant survey logs, documentation and reports. Monitor real-time displays; examine calibration, data plots and charts/maps. Be familiar with equipment lists, checklists, service reports, and to confirm that there is no shortage of equipment and parts
  • Focus on safety. Whatever we do, we want to do it in a safe manner. Report and follow up deficiencies, damaged equipment, safety hazards, or incidents; by using the appropriate reporting system (e.g., failure/breakdown, SJA, non-conformity)
  • Collaboration is Key: Work alongside survey personnel onshore and offshore,  ROV crew, Shift Supervisors and management to ensure smooth operations, while providing input and suggestions for improvements in team performance and operations. Support vessel mobilization and demobilization as needed
  • Maintain Equipment: Keep survey-related equipment in excellent working condition, making sure everything runs smoothly and efficiently. We take pride in looking after our assets
  • Reporting & Problem-Solving: Report key findings to senior team members, identify issues, and actively contribute to solutions that optimise our workflows
  • Innovation Focus: Get hands-on with the latest in survey technology and contribute to the development of new systems in renewable energy, offshore decommissioning, and more. Contribute to Dof's commitment to sustainability and innovation in renewable energy

Requirements

  • Post-secondary education in Hydrographic Survey, Geomatics, or a similar field
  • Experience in Surveying or Hydrographic Surveying (all experience levels considered)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Document Control Systems
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent organisation and time management

Responsibilities and Tasks

  • Perform work in accordance with company and project policies and standards
  • Work effectively under time constraints
  • Recognize personal limitations and seek guidance when necessary
  • Operation of online software packages and knowledge of how they work
  • Configuration and start up of online software packages
  • Monitor all system inputs and diagnose any data outage problems
  • Complete logging of data and manage data correctly
  • Record all online activities as per company standards
  • Be able to identify erroneous data and act accordingly
  • Understand Surface and Sub surface positioning
  • Understand environmental factors and their effects on survey sensors and computations
  • Knowledge of survey techniques
  • Understand Geodetic parameters and be able to verify all parameters used are correct
  • Show good communication to survey team and others
  • Show ability to understand and adhere to all safety policies
  • Show respect to all you work with
