This position is responsible for supporting the catering team, both front and back of house work including set up andbreak down of events as well as kitchen utility duties.  

This is considered a part-time, hourly, non-benefits eligible position. The minimum starting rate for the position is $16.84 per hour.

Core Responsibilities:

Requirements

  • Supports all catering operations by completing assigned back of house and front of house tasks to ensure seamless event execution. 
  • Works as a team or individually to complete tasks and ensure proper service methods and procedures are delivered. Follows the direction of catering Chef or Front of House Lead to complete required duties.
  • Prepares dishware for maching washing, to include scraping, spraying and stacking soiled dishes.
  • Unloads and stacks dishes, glassware, silverware and service utensils to dry and distributes them to proper storage areas.
  • Thoroughly breaks down and cleans dish machine and pulpers at the end of each shift.
  • Collects and removes waste materials and at the end of the shift as well as sweep and mop areas in the kitchen that need attention, particularly in the dishroom.
  • Assists in front of the house service like bussing, watering and clearing dishes as needed.

Position Prerequisites:

  • No formal education or prior experience is required. 
  • General knowledge of safety/sanitary aspects of food service areas and machine operation preferred. 

Physical Demands & Working Conditions:

Must be physically able to lift 25 lbs. numerous times during the day and up to 50 lbs above the waist level on occasions. Must be able to lift, as well as push and pull up to 150 lbs. frequently. This job requires frequent and repetitive bending, twisting, and overhead reaching. Must be able to stand for long periods of time and work in hot and humid conditions.
