As an Oil Modeling Analyst, you will enhance proprietary supply and demand models and develop analytical insights for the ongoing expansion of Kpler's product suite.

Your future position As an Oil Modeling Analyst, this role will support the ongoing expansion of our Supply & Demand (S&D) product suite. You will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing our proprietary supply and demand models, while also contributing to the development of high-quality analytical content for Kpler’s Insight product. Key Responsibilities

  • Use your experience to build and expand our supply and demand models through the enhancement of existing tools

  • Assist in pre-sales efforts by conveying Kpler’s view through our S&D and other internal datasets

  • Identify and report on key developments in the oil and refined products space as part of Kpler’s Insights offering

  • Contribute to the production of company webinars and external presentations

  • Collaborate with the product and technical teams to further develop our portfolio of client offerings

    • Experience & Background

    Essential:

  • 2+ years of prior experience in crude or refined product markets

  • 2+ years running an S&D balance for crude or refined products or experience with data management

  • Experience in producing independent market analysis and insights

  • Skilled at conducting complex analyses across multiple datasets using advancing data analytics tools

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Proficient experience with Excel, SQL, Python, R, or other data science tools

    • Desirable:

  • Previous experience using Kpler data or other cargo tracking tools

    • Skills & Competencies

    Technical / Functional Skills: 

  • Statistical modelling & forecasting

  • Proficiency in SQL, Python, or R

  • Ability to leverage AI/ML capabilities

  • Experience using common data visualization tools (Tableau, PowerBI, Looker, etc.)

    •  

    Behavioural Competencies: 

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

  • Comfortable with establishing new processes and workflows

  • Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

  • Excel in collaborative team environments while taking full ownership of deliverables

    • Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical or quantitative field, with proven experience applying modeling techniques in commercial or research environments
