Your role, your impact
Join our Child Development Team & NDIS Children’s Therapy Service and make a real difference in the lives of children aged 0–9 with developmental delay or disability. You will work across two program streams: one focused on parent support and family capacity‑building, and another providing direct intervention with children in school, kindergarten, home, and community settings.
As a Grade 2 Occupational Therapist, you’ll deliver evidence‑based, family‑centred therapy that empowers parents, builds capacity in natural environments, and helps children thrive in their everyday routines.
You’ll report to the Occupational Therapy & Child Development Team Leader and collaborate with transdisciplinary colleagues, educators, families, and external providers to ensure holistic, coordinated care.
Key responsibilities
-
Deliver evidence‑based therapy to children and families across home, community, early childhood, school, and Each settings, providing both direct intervention with children and coaching with parents/carers.
-
Work closely with parents and caregivers to build their confidence and capacity to embed therapeutic strategies into everyday routines.
-
Lead as a key worker within a transdisciplinary team, coordinating supports and ensuring holistic, family‑centred care.
-
Collaborate with educators and external providers to integrate therapy recommendations into natural learning environments.
-
Develop goals and care plans with families, preparing tailored therapy resources and facilitating individual and group programs.
-
Maintain accurate and timely documentation, including progress notes, reports, and care plans across NDIS, community health, and fee‑for‑service streams.
-
Meet service delivery and productivity expectations, including one designated CDM fee‑for‑service day per week.
-
Prioritise safe, responsive practice by conducting risk assessments, engaging in supervision, and participating in team and professional development activities.
Who we’re looking for
-
Qualified Occupational Therapist with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree and current AHPRA registration.
-
Experienced in supporting children with developmental delay or disability, with a strong commitment to family‑centred practice.
-
Strong understanding of child development and evidence‑based occupational therapy frameworks and interventions.
-
Excellent communicator and collaborator, with the ability to work effectively within a transdisciplinary team.
-
Highly organised and efficient, with strong time management skills and the ability to maintain a balanced caseload.
-
Skilled in clinical documentation and confident using relevant digital systems.
-
Prepared for community‑based work, with a current driver’s licence and own vehicle.
-
Medicare Provider Number ready (or willing to obtain one).
