About the Role:

We are looking for a Clinical Nurse Manager, who will serve as a vital lead role within our clinical operations team standing up and expanding a new nursing team. In this remote role, you will initially spend the majority of your time (80-90%) delivering high-quality asynchronous clinical tasks with direct clinical support and triage. The Clinical Nurse Manager will dedicate 10-20% of capacity to leadership functions, including workflow optimization, team coordination, and formalizing the standard operating procedures (SOPs) that will define our nursing excellence.

The ideal candidate is a seasoned RN who thrives in fast-paced environments, possesses expert-level clinical judgment, and is eager to bridge the gap between day-to-day patient care and operational strategy.

This is a remote role where occasional travel may be needed.

What You Will Do:

Clinical Operations & Patient Care (80-90%)

  • Symptom Triage: Utilize advanced clinical judgment to triage patient symptoms per protocol, addressing acute exacerbations of chronic conditions (e.g., hypertension, Type 1/Type 2 diabetes, asthma, COPD) and new-onset symptoms.
  • Clinical Review: Conduct thorough reviews of refill requests and abnormal lab results, following established protocols to ensure timely intervention.
  • Behavioral Health Integration: Lead follow-up care for positive PHQ-9 screenings, ensuring patients are safely navigated to the appropriate level of care.
  • Escalation Management: Act as the primary point of contact for complex patient or commercial escalations, resolving clinical concerns with empathy and precision.

Clinical Leadership & Strategy (10-20%)

  • Team Coordination: Oversee the daily distribution of RN tasks to ensure balanced workloads and meeting of turnaround time (TAT) goals.
  • Workflow Optimization: Partner with Quality and Operations teams to identify bottlenecks, design new workflows, and improve overall departmental efficiency.
  • Standardization: Draft and formalize clinical SOPs to ensure a consistent, scalable "gold standard" of care.
  • Growth & Hiring: Contribute to the interview and onboarding process for new nursing staff as the team expands.
  • Quality Partnership: Collaborate on initiatives to ensure all clinical activities meet regulatory and internal quality benchmarks.

About You:

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
  • Licensure: Active Registered Nurse (RN) license with RN compact license.
  • RN Experience: 5+ years of clinical RN experience in Primary Care, Endocrinology, or Obesity Medicine.
  • Expertise in Symptom Triage and Chronic Disease Management: Proven comfort triaging complex patient presentations and chronic condition management (Diabetes, HTN, Respiratory, and Cardiac symptoms).
  • Leadership Background: 2+ years experience leading a nursing team, i.e. senior RN or charge nurse
  • Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; ability to explain complex clinical concepts to patients and stakeholders.
  • Digital Health: Experience in telemedicine or remote patient monitoring.
  • Startup Mindset: Experience building teams or creating workflows from scratch in a fast-growing environment.
  • Tech Savvy: Comfortable navigating our EMR, Slack, and project management tools.
