Role Overview
- Formulate and carry out strategies to recruit sellers, with a focus on expanding the global seller base in South China markets.
- Specifically target, recruit, and launch top Chinese brands and manufacturers to grow business on Coupang.
- Establish and nurture strategic relationships with selling partners, and be capable of creating long - term business plans.
- Manage and support strategic sellers to achieve sustainable growth on Coupang.
- Collaborate with the PM team to identify and prioritize technical and process capabilities that enhance seller experience, which in turn improves customer experience by enabling sellers to operate better on Coupang.
What You Will Do
- Identify, assess, market to, and foster sellers' commitment to selling on Coupang.
- Build strong relationships with target sellers and develop a robust pipeline of strategic sellers.
- Analyze customer data and provide recommendations to Coupang's Global Selling business, then successfully execute the recommended marketing plans.
- Implement and track metrics to measure the success and quality of sellers, using these metrics to guide work and discover new opportunities.
- Use Salesforce.com CRM tools to track account information and the status of prospective sellers in China, and respond to business forecasts.
- Gain a deep understanding of the e - commerce industry and competitive landscape, including knowledge of competitive products in Korea.
- Handle additional projects while continuing to promote Coupang's Global Selling business to new potential sellers (such as through mentorship, competitive analysis, and marketplace analysis).
- Prepare and deliver business reviews on the progress of expanding the marketing network and the overall health of the China global selling business.
- Create and communicate compelling value propositions for Coupang's Global Selling service to Chinese sellers.
- Engage with sellers to understand their needs and determine how well Coupang's service offerings fit those needs.
- Develop a clear understanding of Coupang's selling products, including their features and functionalities.
- Support internal partners in driving change, removing obstacles, and increasing the participation of local sellers in Coupang's Global Selling business.
Basic Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree (BA/BS) is required.
- At least 8 years of successful experience in sales and/or business development, preferably in e - commerce or retail.
- A proven track record of exceeding marketing/business development/sales targets using a consultative, solution - focused approach.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
- Experience in marketing and promoting new (nascent) products/services to new markets and customers.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to manipulate and analyze data.
- The ability to work in a fast - paced environment and manage ambiguity.
- Solid relationship management and strong business negotiation/communication skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
Preferred Qualifications
- An MBA degree is preferred.
- Experience in cross - border e - commerce, with an existing strong network of sellers.
- Proven ability to influence others.
- Ability to work with legal, product, and internal business teams to reach mutually beneficial agreements. Experience using analytical, marketing, and productivity tools like Business Intelligence and Tableau.
- Success in managing large account portfolios.
- A track record of successfully scaling business campaigns.
