As Associate Director FP&A, you will be a strategic finance leader, overseeing the FP&A function and developing the company’s budget and multi-year business plans. Leading a team of 5 FP&A professionals, you’ll drive the insights, frameworks, and processes that enable the business to make data-driven decisions. Reporting to the Senior Finance Director, Michael Saunders, you will be responsible for the overall leadership of the FP&A function, ensuring best-in-class financial planning, forecasting, and performance management. You’ll set the vision, build scalable processes, and create a cohesive financial narrative that connects strategy, execution, and outcomes.

You will be based out of our Nordic head office in Islands Brygge, Copenhagen and report to the Finance Director. HelloFresh Nordics covers Denmark, Sweden and Norway.

What You’ll Do (The Recipe)

  • Lead and develop a high-performing FP&A team of 5, fostering a culture of accountability, curiosity, and continuous improvement.
  • Own the end to end budget output and underlying models and processes with your team.
  • Develop a deep understanding of the metrics that drive these models and how to challenge conventional wisdom.
  • Audit and stress test the data and inputs to the models with your team. Aiming for simplicity to allow efficient analysis.
  • Build strong relationships with department leads across marketing, procurement, logistics, product and production.
  • Challenge cost owners on the latest results as necessary and highlight risks to the budget.
  • Act as a trusted advisor, challenging assumptions, uncovering risks, and contributing proactively to strategic and operational discussions.
  • Develop the FP&A infrastructure and tooling strategy, ensuring efficient and effective reporting processes.
  • Produce high-quality board presentations and formal budget documents ensuring accuracy and alignment with strategic goals.
  • Owner of the Finance dashboarding environment, ensuring data accuracy and user-friendly visualisations.
  • Collaborate with Accounting and other Finance peers to ensure accurate month-end close, high-quality financial data, and smooth operational workflows.
  • Support OKR planning with financial insights, helping to align tactical planning with strategic company goals.
  • Conduct investment evaluation and ROI analysis on business cases, conducting scenario analysis using forecasting models to support strategic decisions.

What You’ll Bring (Your Ingredients)

  • 10+ years in FP&A, Controlling, or similar strategic finance roles, preferably in a business with similar operational structures.
  • Proven leadership experience managing and developing an FP&A team or function.
  • Demonstrated strength in financial and strategic analysis, with end-to-end ownership of planning, forecasting, and performance management cycles.
  • Strong quantitative and financial modeling skills with Data-savvy mindset, with experience in business intelligence tools (Python, SQL, PowerBi, Tableau).
  • Demonstrated experience in setting up complex models for FP&A purposes.
  • Good understanding of user acquisition economics and cohort LTV based planning.
  • Proficiency in process / project management, adhering to finance calendars and meeting deadlines.
  • Advanced skills in Google Workspace (especially G-Sheets).
  • Comfort working with modern data, planning, and reporting tools to automate and scale financial processes.
