Monitoring & Incident Detection

  • Continuously monitor infrastructure, applications, and services using AWS CloudWatch, Kibana dashboards, Elastic APM, and Percona Monitoring and Management (PMM).
  • Monitor and respond to alerts received via Google Chat, alerting systems, and monitoring tools.
  • Identify infrastructure, application, database, and API performance issues proactively.
  • Perform initial triage, categorize incidents based on severity, impact, and urgency.
Incident Management & Response
  • Act as the first line of response for production alerts and incidents.
  • Follow defined incident response playbooks and escalation procedures.
  • Escalate incidents to appropriate engineering, DevOps, or database teams as per SLA.
  • Track incidents through closure and ensure proper documentation in incident tracking systems.
  • Assist in incident resolution validation and service restoration monitoring.
Log Monitoring & Analysis
  • Monitor application and infrastructure logs using Kibana.
  • Identify anomalies, error patterns, unusual traffic behavior, and system degradation.
  • Support root cause analysis by providing relevant logs, timelines, and observations.
Application Performance Monitoring (APM)
  • Monitor application performance metrics using Elastic APM including latency, throughput, and error rates.
  • Identify performance degradation, bottlenecks, and abnormal system behavior.
  • Notify engineering teams of performance anomalies and assist in validation post-resolution.
Database Monitoring
  • Monitor database health, query performance, replication status, and resource utilization using Percona Monitoring and Management.
  • Identify database performance degradation, high load, slow queries, and availability issues.
  • Escalate database-related risks and anomalies promptly.
Security & Vulnerability Monitoring
  • Monitor vulnerability reports from NST Assure and Snyk platforms.
  • Identify newly reported vulnerabilities and notify security and engineering teams.
  • Track remediation progress and follow up on pending vulnerabilities.
  • Assist in maintaining security hygiene across infrastructure and applications.
Operational Excellence
  • Maintain shift handover reports and operational summaries.
  • Document incidents, alerts, resolutions, and operational observations.
  • Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and operational runbooks.
  • Support operational readiness, reliability, and uptime objectives.
