We are seeking a NOC Engineer to oversee our infrastructure and application services. In this role, the associate will be responsible for monitoring, reacting to alerts/events generated and troubleshooting problems, develops and maintains system documentation, run-books and production metrics reporting.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Monitor and support the company's production systems and applications by using the monitoring and diagnostic tools.
- Efficient at following/tracking issues that are appearing on the NOC, perform first level of analysis and work with the IT teams to bring it to closure
- Monitor product Batch jobs, troubleshoot all types of problems, and determine impact on the current production schedule.
- Escalate and collaborate with different Support groups, Service Owners, Vendors and Third Party Service Providers to ensure uninterrupted availability of services.
- Work proactively with the Applications, Systems and Database teams to continually optimize the Application performance, batch job streams and improve the job performance.
- Work closely with Systems, Applications, Database, and Network teams to manage changes to the production environment, equipment, operating systems, and application software and database systems.
- Responsible for creating and managing daily/weekly/monthly performance metrics reports.
- Contribute to knowledge base articles and updating process documents and playbooks, whenever there is a change in process or new applications or processes are added.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field or equivalent work experience
- 2+ years of extensive experience in NOC. Working knowledge of Logic monitor tool preferred.
- Experienced and proficient with troubleshooting techniques and problem solving in a 24x7-production environment (SaaS/web).
- Experience with scripting and command line in a Linux environment
- Knowledge of database management and application stacks will be an advantage.
- Knowledge and hands-on experience with application/web server technology (Apache Tomcat, IIS, etc).
- Understanding of basic network protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP, FTP, etc) and utilities (Telnet, SSH, CURL, etc)
- Working knowledge of Incident and Problem Management tools
- Good oral and written communication skills, and ability to address conflict with others constructively
- Excellent time management and organizational skills, and ability to handle multiple concurrent tasks and projects with minimal supervision
