JOB SUMMARY:

The New Store Opening Manager ensures every new Petfolk Care Center opens with the right equipment, supplies, vendor accounts, and operational infrastructure in place. This role manages end-to-end procurement for new centers, oversees medical and operational vendor onboarding, supports account creation and access, and coordinates equipment planning, delivery, and CapEx tracking.

This position also leads procurement readiness during Operations Turnover (OT) week—including vendor training, equipment certifications (in partnership with the Petfolk Regulatory team), cold-chain and pharmacy order activation, and surplus inventory deployment.

This is a highly cross-functional individual contributor role partnering daily with Development (Design, Construction and Facilities), Launch, Regulatory, and Medical Operations. Strong organization, communication, and timeline management are essential.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Procurement Management

  • Lead end-to-end procurement for all new Care Centers, ensuring accurate orders, timely delivery, and alignment with construction and opening timelines.
  • Manage SKU audits, alternatives, backorders, and surplus utilization.

Vendor Account Creation & Management

  • Set up and manage all clinical and operational vendor accounts for new centers.
  • Complete required applications and coordinate account access, platform configurations, and issue resolution.

New Store Opening Readiness

  • Own the entire new store turnover process—from procurement through OT week—ensuring every item, space, system, and workflow is fully delivered, staged, functional, and ready for opening.
  • Maintain and continuously elevate the OT Week Guide, driving vendor readiness, training coordination, and safe workflows for receiving and managing temperature-sensitive inventory.

Equipment Management & CapEx Support

  • Partner with regulatory teams to coordinate delivery, installation, certification, and early troubleshooting for operational and medical equipment (alongside Regulatory).
  • Support standardized equipment packages, cost estimates, and CapEx planning.
  • Assist with troubleshooting existing capital equipment issues in partnership with Facilities, Learning and Development, and vendor partners.

Surplus Management

  • Track and manage surplus inventory and coordinate redistribution to support upcoming openings.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner closely with Regulatory, Medical Ops, Construction, Facilities, and Launch to ensure smooth openings and clear ownership across workflows.

Vendor Operations & Process Improvement

  • Maintain strong vendor relationships and manage escalations.
  • Evolve procurement tools, SOPs, and workflows to support Petfolk’s scaling needs.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • 3–6+ years in procurement, operations, supply chain, or multi-site openings
  • Strong vendor management and communication skills
  • Highly organized; strong project and timeline management
  • Experience with construction, facilities, or new store setups a plus
  • Strong analytical skills; proficiency in Google Sheets/Excel
  • Veterinary, healthcare, retail, or multi-site experience strongly preferred

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND SALARY:

  • In-Person Requirement: This role is an in-office position. Our care centers run on teamwork and collaboration, and our HQ operates the same way. Being onsite strengthens relationships, accelerates problem-solving, and ensures we can work effectively together. This position is required to be based at Petfolk HQ in New York City, NY or Boca Raton, FL.
  • Travel Required: Up to 10% travel to Petfolk Care Centers to support procurement readiness, equipment coordination, and new store openings as needed.

SALARY:

  • Annual salary range: $75,000–$100,000
