Network Specialist

Moonshot is seeking an entry level Network & Training Specialist to support the coordination of partnerships and specialized training programs across multiple violence prevention projects. This role requires exceptional organizational skills, clear communication, and the ability to work independently with oversight from project managers. 

The ideal candidate is a self-starter who excels at project coordination, recognizing gaps in support, and communicating effectively across different disciplines. Working under the direction of managers, the individual will support the building and coordination of a violence prevention professional network while ensuring all training logistics and program deliverables are executed flawlessly. Strong critical thinking and communication skills are essential; familiarity with violence prevention approaches is valued but not required.

This role requires occasional travel to client sites in different locations across the U.S. and Washington, DC.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Network Logistics: Support managers in maintaining and updating network data, including large contact lists; collect and analyze data on network needs; support solutions to increase network effectiveness.
  • Training & Event Support: Under direction, coordinate logistics for specialized training programs and events, including scheduling, venue coordination, agenda tailoring, attendance tracking and impact metrics; support invoicing and payment processing.
  • Technical Support: Ability to understand technical (e.g. CRM, project management, virtual training, website) platforms, including navigating key features, pulling data metrics, and addressing technical issues.
  • Work with demanding, high-tempo reporting schedules for clients under manager guidance.

Requirements

Essential:

  • Critical Thinking & Problem-Solving: Demonstrated ability to analyze needs, identify gaps, develop solutions, and think proactively about challenges. Ability to determine when it is appropriate to escalate issues and progress to managers.
  • Organization & Detail: Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail while working on multiple projects; ability to prioritize effectively and meet demanding deadlines.
  • Communication Excellence: Outstanding written and verbal communication skills; ability to translate complex information for diverse professional audiences.
  • Self-Starter Mentality: Ability to work independently, take initiative, and drive tasks forward under manager oversight.
  • Training/Program Support: Ability to support the logistics of training and events, including tracking attendance, navigating virtual training platforms, and responding to technical issues.
  • Technical Capability: remote working, minimal IT (fix small issues, operate cloud based applications).
  • Commitment: Genuine interest in Moonshot's mission to reduce online harms and prevent violence.
  • In addition, we require and will check on candidates' eligibility to work in the US. Candidates will be expected to undertake and pass any relevant security clearance procedures per clients' needs. 

Desirable:

  • Professional knowledge or experience in behavioral threat assessment, school safety, hate crimes, targeted violence, terrorism, or other violence prevention areas.
  • Research and/or data analysis skills.
  • Project management experience.

Salary: $50,000 - $78,000 (depending on skills and experience).
