What We're Looking For

We’re looking for a motivated Network Field Support Technician who will install, maintain, and troubleshoot networking and communication systems. This role is perfect for someone with 2–4 years of hands-on experience, keen to support tier 1 and tier 2 customers in a fast-paced, technical environment. 

 

U.S. Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance are required.


This role aligns well with military Signal Corps specialties such as Army MOS 25B, 25H, 25N, and related communications fields. Veterans and transitioning service members are strongly encouraged to apply!

 

What You’ll Do

    • Troubleshoot Ku-band satellite connections, internal networks, and tactical voice systems to support mission-critical operations
    • Install, cable, and configure routers and switches (Cisco, Ubiquiti, Cradlepoint, Grandstream), including deployments in mobile command vehicles
    • Map, save, and document network configurations and system changes
    • Write accurate, detailed reports documenting troubleshooting activity and customer needs
    • Test and deploy solutions for customers with unique or non-standard equipment
    • Support and grow customer accounts through field service, issue resolution, and relationship management
    • Maintain technical proficiency through ongoing training, industry engagement, and professional development
    • Resolve customer complaints by investigating issues, developing solutions with the team, and making recommendations to leadership
    • Provide technical guidance and training to end users
    • Assist with system design, equipment sourcing, and implementation for new and existing customers
    • Diagnose, maintain, and optimize network components and operating systems to improve reliability and performance
    • Modify router and switch configurations to meet evolving customer requirements
    • Configure and support iDirect x5/x7 modems and SATCOM antenna/controller systems including TracStar/Cobham, AVL, Winegard, and Motosat


    What You’ll Need to Succeed (Requirements)

    Technical Skills

    • Hands-on experience with Cisco and Ubiquiti networking equipment
    • Experience with iDirect x5/x7 modems and SATCOM antenna/controller systems, including TracStar/Cobham, AVL, Winegard, and Motosat
    • Familiarity with cabling, racking, stacking, and power installations
    • Basic troubleshooting skills for network systems and satellite communications

    Customer Focus

    • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to explain technical information clearly to end users
    • Proactive approach to resolving customer issues and ensuring satisfaction

    Foundational Knowledge

    • High School Diploma required; relevant technical certifications (such as Security+, CCNA, etc) are a plus
    • Basic computer proficiency (MS Office and common networking tools)

    Additional Qualifications

    • Willingness to learn and develop further technical expertise
    • Must possess a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record (ability to travel to customer sites as needed)
    • U.S. Citizenship required; must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance (sponsorship available)




    Physical & Travel Requirements

    • Ability to assemble/disassemble equipment, sit or stand for extended periods, climb ladders, and lift up to 50 pounds.
    • Willingness to travel to regional customer sites (approximately 25% of the time).



    Location:

    • This is an in-person position based in Millersville, MD. Candidates should be local to the area or willing to commute.
