Voltex is seeking a highly motivated Network Engineer to manage and oversee the network infrastructure technologies as we continue to expand operations across the organization and implement modern technology platforms. This is a critical role responsible for ensuring our network infrastructure remains reliable, secure, and scalable to meet the demands of our growth. The Network Engineer will be responsible for managing, monitoring, and maintaining the company's network infrastructure. You will support daily operations, provide technical assistance to staff, and ensure the stability and performance of our systems, networks, and applications. This position requires a proactive individual who can solve complex issues and work independently, but also collaborate with other team members on larger projects. The ideal candidate should have hands-on technical experience with a can-do and self-sourcing attitude as well as a strong command of enterprise technologies, is eager to learn, and ready to take ownership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of network infrastructure by monitoring system performance, configuration, maintenance, and repair.
  • Assist in monitoring and managing the network infrastructure, including routers, switches, SASE, and VPNs to ensure uptime and performance.
  • Assist in data center modernization, and cloud migration / adaptation activities. • Assist with IT infrastructure projects and initiatives.
  • Provide tier 2-3 operational support to employees, diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and networking issues.
  • Performs troubleshooting as required. Leads problem-solving efforts often involving outside vendors and other support personnel.
  • Management of all networking equipment, and other components.
  • Ensures high availability and acceptable levels of performance of mission critical host resources.
  • Ensure that records of infrastructure equipment inventory are properly maintained.
  • Interfaces with, and contributes to overall success of other IT teams, including Service Desk Operations, Database, and Applications Development.
  • Creates and maintains a well-documented knowledge base.

Requirements

Education / Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Cisco, HPE Aruba, Cato Networks, or other industry certifications.
  • ITIL certification / training beneficial.

Experience:

  • At least 5 years of experience operating on-prem enterprise infrastructure technologies.
  • Know-how with network routing, switching, firewalling, and subnet segmentations.
  • Direct hands-on experience in the implementation and management of complex medium to large scale enterprise infrastructure and networks.
  • Experience in Azure, AWS, GCP, OCI, or other cloud provider in a hybrid-cloud environment is a plus.
  • Background with applying security principles and best practices would be a plus.

Skills & Technology Used:

  • Demonstrated expertise in four or more of the following technologies:
    1. SAN / NAS arrays o Infrastructure monitoring tools (Opsview / Nagios)
    2. PowerShell scripting and automation o Secure Access Service Edge (SASE / SSE / Cato Networks)
    3. Software-Defined Wide Area Network (SD-WAN)
    4. Network switching (Cisco IOS / Cisco Nexus / Cisco Catalysts)
    5. Network load balancers (HAProxy) o High-availability, scaling, and clustering
  • M365 and Microsoft core applications (Windows Server platforms, Exchange, Active Directory, GPO, WSUS, IIS, MSSQL)
  • Linux and other variants (Ubuntu)
  • IaaS Cloud Platforms (Azure, AWS)
  • DaaS Cloud Providers (Amazon WorkSpaces)
  • Understanding core domains of IT infrastructure such as servers, networks, storage, backups, disaster recovery, related monitoring and management systems.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of effectively communicating technical information in English, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to collaborate with other architecture and operational teams (i.e. Infrastructure, Platform, Service Desk, Applications, Database, Operations, etc.)
  • Ability to adapt to a quickly changing environment and interact with a broad customer base with diverse needs and functional responsibilities.
