Position Overview & Purpose The Network Engineer will plan, develop, and evaluate new and existing computer network systems and services, including local area networks, wide area networks, intranets, and the Internet, providing analytical, technical, and administrative support. Essential Duties & Responsibilities ·         Implements network policies and procedures and ensures network integrity as maintenance and modification projects to existing applications are undertaken. ·         Installs and upgrades network equipment and software. ·         Practices network asset management, including maintenance of network component inventory and related documentation and technical specifications. ·         Monitors and tests network performance and provides network performance statistics and reports. ·         Establishes and documents network technical support processes and procedures. ·         Troubleshoots network issues. ·         Implements disaster recovery procedures. ·         Maintains current knowledge and understanding of security and networking best practices to offer the best solutions and protection to company systems   Knowledge, Skills & Abilities ·         Comprehensive understanding of network services. ·         Ability to analyze and evaluate networks, identify issues and provide solutions to ensure networks are operating efficiently. ·         Ability to manage several projects simultaneously. ·         Ability to communicate technical information to other technical team members but also to coworkers in other departments who may not have knowledge of networking technical terminology. Basic Qualifications & Competencies ·         5+ years of experience in Network Engineering ·         Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field and / or equivalent work experience. ·         Must be able to provide proof of eligibility to work in the U.S.   Preferred Qualifications & Competencies ·         Experience working in telecommunications / Fiber optics field. ·         Knowledge of industry products and services   Physical Demands & Working Environment Sitting – up to 55% Walking- up to 30% Standing- up to 30% Reaching- up to 10% Lifting and/or bending- up to 10% Able to lift up 50 pounds Travel: up to 30%
