Essential functions.

  • Design, implement, and maintain enterprise network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless systems on close restricted network.

  • Implement, manage, and maintain VLANs, VPNs, and other network segmentation techniques.
  • Apply and enforce network security measures to comply with DoD cybersecurity standards.
  • Develop and maintain network documentation, standard operating procedures, and diagrams.
  • Ensure compliance with DoD IT policies, security standards, and operational procedures.


Competencies/Qualifications:

  • Advanced knowledge of enterprise network architectures, including LAN/WAN, routing, switching, and wireless.
  • Experience with network security technologies such as firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and access controls.
  • Proficiency with network monitoring tools and performance analysis.
  • Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and analytical skills.
  • Proven ability to mentor junior network staff.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office for documentation and reporting.



Education Requirements:



 Required education and experience


  • High school Diploma or equivalent with 5-8 years of experience.
  •  CompTIA Security+ certification
  •  Cisco CCNA certification or higher

 

Preferred education and experience

  •  Associate or bachelor’s degree in informational technology or similar discipline
  •  Prior experience supporting DoD and/or Federal government customers
  •  MD-102 certification

 

Work environment

  • The position operates in a secure facility where occasional loud noises may occur.
  • Work may require moving between offices or meeting spaces, with brief exposure to outdoor weather conditions.
  • The primary workspace is located in an enclosed, windowless area.
