We are seeking a Network Engineer to design, implement, maintain, and support a growing network infrastructure for a customer at INDOPACOM. As part of our engineering team, you will be responsible for developing scalable, maintainable, and highly available network architectures that meet mission-critical requirements.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • ​Configure and install network devices and services (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPN, QoS).
  • Perform network maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches, hot fixes, and security configurations.
  • Monitor performance, system resource utilization, trending, and capacity planning to ensure availability and reliability.
  • Provide Level-2/3 support and troubleshooting to resolve issues.
  • Work within established configuration and change management policies to ensure awareness, approval, and success of changes.
  • Support Risk Management Framework activities, including application of Security Technical Implementation Guides and collection of security-related artifacts.
  • Select and implement security tools, policies, and procedures in conjunction with the company’s security team.
  • Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution.
  • Produce documentation to support installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and operator usage.

 


Requirements

Location: This position is 100% onsite and based at Camp Smith, Hawaii.  No remote or hybrid options are available. Candidates must be able to work full‑time at Camp Smith and maintain daily presence on base to support mission requirements.

Necessary Skills and Experience

  • 5+ years of experience applying engineering principles in a professional environment.
  • 5+ years of experience in the development, implementation, and maintenance of network architectures.
  • Hands-on experience maintaining, configuring, operating, and troubleshooting complex electronic computer interface systems and network equipment (e.g., taclanes, firewalls, routers, switches).
  • Ability to represent successful completion of work in Agile Management systems (e.g., Jira, Confluence, GitLab).
  • Bachelor of Science in Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, Network Engineering, or related field.
  • IAT Level 1 certification (CompTIA Security+ and OS/Computing Environment certification).
  • Demonstrates excellent clear and concise verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work within company and customer schedule requirements, which may vary depending on task criticality.
  • Must have an active U.S. government Top Secret security clearance and be SCI eligible.  Additional eligibility requirements for access to classified information may apply.
  • U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25%.
