As a network administrator is responsible for maintaining all physical, virtual, and cloud networks that keep our organization and systems running and optimized. From maintaining network security to supervising network updates and sharing and coaching IT helpdesk peers, the network administrator is not only IT support but also the thread that connects all operations. Deep technological expertise with a wide range of LAN/WLAN/WAN/MAN, computer and server systems, peripheral hardware, and software is essential for the network administrator to excel in this role and help drive our organization forward.

Objectives of this Role

  • Manage all network design/optimizations, migrations, upgrades, implementations, and maintenance.
  • Provide network support across the organization.
  • Ensure network stability and resilience and maintain stable and consistent connectivity across all networks.
  • Prepare, implement, and test disaster recovery procedures.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage all internal network infrastructure requirements; including switches, routers, firewalls, wireless access points, wireless controllers, structured cabling, phones, security cameras, physical access controls, and internet service providers.
  • Manage physical and virtual server administration & all associated tasks (ex: VPNs, security permissions, Users & group policies, network Integrations, 2MFA).
  • Assist in all physical and virtual server upgrades, patches, and vulnerability management.
  • Assist in Azure cloud infrastructure footprint management, expansion, and integration.
  • Research event-log warnings and errors; monitor resources to ensure that systems architecture components work together seamlessly.
  • Consistently monitor & troubleshoot performance, stability & health of Cloud, data-center Infrastructure & ISPs, using existing management tools and responding to hardware issues as they arise; help build, assess, and maintain new servers when needed.
  • Coach, Mentor, and provide Tier 2 level support to Jr. peers, troubleshoot & identify root causes.
  • Perform routine checks and scheduled audits of all systems, including configuration backups.
  • Recommend, evaluate, and implement system and security upgrades.
  • Create, adjust, and maintain network user settings and permissions.
  • Create & assist in the network system’s technical memory writing, standard operations procedures, manuals & IT Policies.
  • Act as an IT liaison to corporate and local offices, communicate network issues with peers, users, and management, leading troubleshooting issues & outages, ensuring security through access controls, backups, and firewalls.
  • Enforce and proactively correct all current structured cabling deficiencies, and design network architecture to easy expansions that are consistent with the standards and best practices.

Requirements

  • BS in Computer Science, Electronics, or other related field experience with 5 years minimum of experience with cisco CLI and enterprise network equipment.
  • Virtual and Cloud networking concepts and computing infrastructures.
  • Experience as a network engineer or network operations center agent with a high emphasis on performance and root cause analysis and monitoring tools.
  • Effective communication skills for training and assisting users.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Desire certification: Cisco CCNA or CCNP or CCNE, CompTIA+/Security+/Network+.
