The AV National Sales Manager is responsible for leading the expansion of Shepard Audio Visual’s national client base by cultivating strong relationships with internal stakeholders, new prospects, and existing customers. This role focuses on generating new business across tradeshows, corporate events, and meetings with general sessions, education components, digital branding, and full-service convention AV rental needs.

 

Shepard Audio Visual is a nationwide, full-service AV production, rigging, lighting, and staging company. The National Sales Manager will be responsible for day-to-day sales engagement of new business acquisition and booking audio visual business, as well as growing booked existing business by 10% on an annual basis.

Key Contributions of the Role

  • Identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities through proactive outreach, networking, and industry engagement
  • Research, qualify, and develop profitable business opportunities that align with SAV’s strategic objectives ICW with sales leadership.
  • Conduct comprehensive needs assessments to create accurate, customized proposals that address client objectives and event requirements.
  • Focus on securing business opportunities valued at $150K or greater.
  • Achieve and maintain annual sales revenue between $1.5M to $3M and consistently meet profitability expectations.  
  • Collaborate with Project Managers (PMs) and estimators to ensure that all scopes, estimates, and quotes are accurate, competitive, and operationally feasible.
  • Manage leads, accounts, and opportunities with accuracy and timeliness using Salesforce CRM.
  • Maintain all reporting, forecasting, and performance benchmarks to track progress and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Build and strengthen long-term relationships with clients, partners, and industry organizations by demonstrating commitment to their success and the value of the SAV partnership.
  • Regularly analyze sales metrics, market trends, and competitive data to refine development strategies and identify business opportunities.

Requirements

  • Proven track record in growing new AV sales business within the events and tradeshow industry, demonstrating the ability to close deals and achieve sales targets.  
  • Familiarity with Intellievent or similar order tracking software, with the ability to accurately enter and manage data within quoting software.
  • Ability to build and maintain long-term relationships with customers, stakeholders, and internal teams.  
  • CRM proficiency and familiarity with Salesforce as a plus. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to deliver clear, compelling, and professional presentations and proposals.
  • Strong organizational and detail-oriented mindset with the capability of managing multiple projects and deadlines effectively. 
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and result-driven mindset with a strong commitment to driving sales and developing client relationships. 
  • Proficiency with standard office software, including Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field; or relevant experience may be substituted for formal education.
