Duties and Responsibilities:

The National Key Accounts Head is responsible for developing, managing, and executing strategic programs across Modern Trade Retail and Food Service (HoReCa) key accounts to deliver volume growth, market share expansion, and revenue performance.

The role provides end-to-end leadership over key account strategy, demand planning, market analytics, and trade marketing execution, ensuring strong brand presence, profitable category growth, and disciplined commercial execution across national and regional accounts.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Commercial Strategy & Account Growth

  • Develop, manage, and execute national and regional key account strategies to maximize distribution, availability, and brand visibility across Modern Trade channels.
  • Drive beverage category growth and profitability, ensuring balanced trade investments and sustainable commercial returns.
  • Lead strategic negotiations with key accounts to optimize commercial terms, joint business plans, and long-term partnerships.

Demand Planning & Market Analytics

  • Ensure robust demand planning by integrating market insights, customer intelligence, sales targets, and historical performance data.
  • Analyze market trends, competitor activity, and consumer behaviour to identify opportunities, risks, and actionable growth initiatives.
  • Monitor sales performance and provide clear, data-driven insights and recommendations to senior management.

Trade Marketing & Execution Excellence

  • Oversee the implementation of trade marketing and merchandising strategies to drive availability, visibility, and execution excellence in Modern Trade.
  • Ensure alignment between sales execution, marketing initiatives, and supply capabilities to support business objectives.

Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing commercial team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Set clear performance expectations, coach leaders, and build organizational capability to support long-term success.

Governance & Market Awareness

  • Stay abreast of industry trends, market dynamics, and regulatory developments to ensure competitiveness and compliance.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies, governance standards, and ethical business practices.

Requirements

Skills / Qualifications:

Professional Background

  • Minimum of 15 years’ experience in account management and marketing within a fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) environment, with at least 7 years in a senior managerial or leadership capacity.
  • Demonstrated expertise in key accounts management, business and channel development, and market and customer insights, ideally within large-scale, multi-channel operations.

Industry & Commercial Expertise

  • Strong understanding of Modern Trade dynamics, including customer economics, trade investments, and execution models.
  • Proven track record of success in senior leadership roles within the FMCG or beverage industry, particularly in Modern Trade-led organizations.

Strategic & Analytical Capability

  • Strategic thinker with a data-driven approach to decision-making and commercial planning.
  • Highly analytical, with the ability to interpret complex data, generate business insights, and translate analysis into actionable strategies.

Leadership & People Management

  • Excellent leadership and people management skills, with experience leading large, diverse, and geographically distributed teams.
