Job Description and Accountabilities

  • Be personally committed and accountable in support of our HSE goal zero initiative
  • Conduct quality control tests to evaluate seed quality characteristics including germination tests, vigor, purity, moisture content and using established protocols and techniques.
  • Record all seed quality data obtained from inspections and testing accurately and promptly into LIMs system.  Perform data analysis to ensure accuracy of data results.
  • Organize, perform, and lead in assigned areas to ensure all required processes, procedures and data requirements are met while participating in industry certifications for the lab. Provide supervision for seasonal staff while conducting testing and analyzing data
  • Ensure that all seed is properly handled and tested so that accurate seed quality results will be completed within assigned timelines
  • Develop a working understanding and aptitude for all lab functions to be able to fill in for colleagues when necessary
  • Participate in the development and continuous improvement of quality control procedures, protocols, and guidelines to enhance overall seed quality and efficiency.  Follow all legal & corporate policies, procedures, and guidelines
  • Must be High School graduate or have a GED
  • B.A. or B.S. degree in science, agriculture, or related; or A.A. and 2+ years relevant work experience, or 3+ years relevant work experience preferred
  • Willingness to work towards RST certification.
  • Knowledge of agriculture and or experience in the seed industry
  • Working knowledge of LIMs, Excel, Power BI, Minitab, SAP preferred
  • Forklift certified preferred
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
  • All applicants must be eligible to work in the U.S
