The n8n Automation Consultant will design and implement automation workflows and integrate Generative AI capabilities to enhance business processes and train internal teams.
We are seeking a n8n Automation Consultant to design, implement, and optimize automation workflows using n8n. The consultant will collaborate with internal teams to automate operational processes, build system integrations, and deliver scalable, secure, and production-ready automation solutions.
The role also requires a strong understanding of Generative AI (GenAI) and the ability to integrate AI-powered capabilities — such as LLM-based automation, intelligent data processing, conversational workflows, and AI-driven decision logic — into business automation workflows.
In addition to implementation, the consultant will be responsible for training and enabling internal teams to independently manage and extend automation solutions.
Responsibilities:
Configure, deploy, and maintain n8n environments (self-hosted or cloud-based)
Design and implement automation workflows aligned with business processes
Build integrations using APIs, webhooks, databases, SaaS platforms, and internal systems
Incorporate Generative AI capabilities into workflows (e.g., LLM-based automation, AI agents, prompt-driven processes)
Design AI-assisted decision flows, summarization, classification, and intelligent data processing pipelines
Implement structured error handling, retries, logging, monitoring, and observability
Optimize and refactor workflows for performance, scalability, and resilience
Provide architectural guidance on automation and AI-enabled workflow patterns
Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Operations teams to gather requirements
Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve workflow or integration issues
Ensure secure data handling, privacy compliance, and responsible AI usage
Maintain detailed technical documentation for workflows, AI usage patterns, and configurations
Training & Enablement Responsibilities
Conduct structured training sessions for internal teams on n8n and AI-enabled workflows
Create reusable training materials, implementation guides, and best-practice playbooks
Provide knowledge transfer on workflow design, AI integration strategies, debugging, and governance
Enable internal teams to independently build, monitor, and maintain automation workflows
Support transition and handover phases to internal teams
Required Expertise:
Proven hands-on experience building automation solutions using n8n
Strong understanding of REST APIs, JSON, webhooks, and authentication methods (OAuth, API keys, JWT)
Practical experience integrating Generative AI / LLM services into automation workflows
Understanding of prompt engineering, AI workflow orchestration, and AI-assisted automation patterns
Experience integrating SaaS platforms, internal systems, and databases
JavaScript proficiency for Function / Code nodes
Experience implementing conditional logic, branching workflows, and exception handling
Ability to convert business processes into scalable automation and AI-driven solutions
Strong analytical thinking, troubleshooting ability, and communication skills
Experience conducting technical training or structured knowledge transfer
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with self-hosted n8n deployments (Docker, Linux, cloud environments)
Familiarity with AI APIs and platforms (OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, Anthropic, Google AI, etc.)
Familiarity with cloud platforms, especially on Azure. Experience on other cloud platforms is an added advantage.
Experience with event-driven architectures, message queues, or scheduling systems
Background in SaaS platforms, ERP systems, CRM systems, or workflow automation solutions
Experience working in agile or product-led environments
Familiarity with Git and version control workflows
