Ventus Executive Solutions is seeking a skilled Senior Engineer with an extensive background in industrial manufacturing and systems optimization to provide munitions production oversight support to a U.S. Navy weapon program office. The selected candidate will advise the Program Manager on complex munitions manufacturing operations, with specific emphasis on production line expansion, capacity optimization, and supply chain performance. This role involves conducting independent assessments of prime contractor’s manufacturing processes, evaluating production scalability and risk, and providing data-driven recommendations to improve manufacturing efficiency and resilience. The position requires frequent interaction with senior program leadership, weapon manufacturing prime contractors, and external stakeholders, and plays a critical role in supporting national security objectives through enhanced industrial base performance.

Work Location:   Arlington, Va. (onsite)

Travel: <20% - CONUS travel to manufacturing facilities

Required Experience 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related technical discipline.
  • Minimum of 12 years of experience supporting large-scale industrial manufacturing operations.
  • Demonstrated experience in industrial production or complex manufacturing environments.
  • Expertise in production capability optimization, capacity analysis, and manufacturing process assessment.
  • Strong background in supply chain management and industrial production operations.
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively with senior government leadership and external organizations.
  • Experience interfacing with and overseeing prime contractors.
  • High proficiency with MS Office products, including MS Project.
  • Ability to support on-site work in Arlington, VA, with periodic travel to manufacturing facilities.

 

Desired Experience 

  • Master’s degree in Business, Engineering, or Operations Analysis.
  • 20 or more years of experience in industrial manufacturing and production environments.
  • Direct experience in Industrial Engineering or Systems Engineering roles.
  • Knowledge of the military acquisition lifecycle and program office operations.
  • Prior experience supporting Navy or DoD weapon systems programs.
